Microsoft Dragon Simulator X Prototype

This Microsoft Dragon Simulator X Prototype May Be the Best Thing You’ll See Today

Reddit’s member _SideniuS_ has shared an amazing video, showcasing a prototype of a Dragon simulator game he’s been working on. And, honestly, this looks absolutely incredible. So, make sure to watch it.

_SideniuS_ has created this prototype in two months in his spare time. Naturally, the ultimate goal is to create a game out of this prototype. However, nothing is set in stone as of yet. Still, this gameplay video looks sooooooooo good. In a way, it might remind you of Drakan: Order of the Flame. That or Lair that came out on PS3 (without its awful controls).

For those wondering, this prototype uses Unreal Engine. So no, despite its name, it’s not a mod for Microsoft Flight Simulator. And although _SideniuS_ hasn’t clarified, I’m certain this is in UE5. After all, there aren’t any pop-ins when the dragon approaches the ground. So, we can assume that it uses both Nanite and Lumen.

The prototype uses a simple aerodynamics model and procedural animations to simulate a highly dynamic dragon flying experience. And, this looks so fun. Which begs the question. Why hasn’t Microsoft released a Dragon DLC for Microsoft Flight Simulator? And I know. Such a DLC may not be suited for a realistic game like MFS. However, think of it. Dragons are cool. So a DLC that will allow you to fly a dragon at high speeds so that you can traverse the entire Earth sounds kind of cool, don’t you think?

Needless to say, we’ll be sharing its demo when – and if – it comes out. Until then, enjoy the video.

Speaking of Unreal Engine 5, we recommend trying out these other free fan-made demos. You can grab a Superman UE5 Demo, a Halo 3: ODST Remake, and a Spider-Man UE5 Demo. There’s also a fan-made version of STALKER in Unreal Engine 5. If you love old-school FPS games, you should check out this remake of the classic FPS Blood in Epic’s engine. Then we have The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Demo in Unreal Engine 5.3.2. Don’t also forget the remake of Halo: Combat Evolved’s Halo level in UE5 or this free Attack on Titan game. Lastly, we have The Lord of the Rings: Conquest Reimagined in Unreal Engine 5, a remake of Flappy Bird, and a Diablo 2 Remake Demo. They all look awesome, so be sure to give them a try.

Have fun!
