SEGA has released an official combat overview trailer for STRANGER THAN HEAVEN. STRANGER THAN HEAVEN is the new IP from the devs behind the Yakuza series, Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio. So, if you are a fan of these games, you should definitely check it out.
The game’s story will unfold across a version of Japan that may have existed in another life altogether, immersing you in 5 sprawling cities, each modeled after real locations of their respective eras.
In the game, you will assume the role of Makoto Daito. According to the devs, players will experience his struggle through the raw brutality of an ever-changing combat system that feels alive.
You will be able to move his left and right sides independently and instinctively as you attack, defend, and force your way to victory. For instance, you can follow a jab with a crushing blow, send enemies flying with a charged attack, tackle them while they stagger, or pin them to the ground and unleash a relentless flurry of punches.
Moreover, you can block enemy strikes with one hand and instantly counter with the other. Reading their moves and creating your own openings will be key to coming out on top.
Additionally, you’ll master and enhance a wide array of weapons. Players will be able to get their hands on knives, hammers, katanas, and more as they fight their way through era after violent era.
There is currently no ETA for when STRANGER THAN HEAVEN will come out. SEGA has not revealed its PC requirements, either. However, we do know that the game will use the Denuvo anti-tamper tech.
Enjoy and stay tuned for more!
