Oblivion Remake in Skyrim Skyblivion new feature

Oblivion Fan Remake in Skyrim, Skyblivion, Gets Its Sixth Dev Diary

The modding team behind Skyblivion, the fan remake of Oblivion in Skyrim, has shared its sixth dev diary. In this diary, the devs show off the Gold Coast, the City of Anvil, a few Oblivion realms and unique worlds, plus player customization and much more.

Skyblivion aims to bring The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion to a new generation of gamers and welcome back longtime fans of the series. This cool mod will work with both Skyrim Legacy Edition and Skyrim Special Edition. It’s one of the most exciting mods out there, showing what modders can do when they put their minds to it. And, even in its WIP state, it looks great.

When Skyblivion comes out, you’ll be able to pick and choose what parts you want to install. You can decide to install things like Landscaping, Interiors, City improvements, and Weapons/Armor. In theory, this will allow the team to finish the mod more quickly. It’s like customizing your game the way you want it.

Skyblivion has been in the works for some time, and its team is aiming to release it in 2025. Yep, you read that right. We will finally be able to test a version of this mod in 2025.

When it comes to big mods for Skyrim, there are some cool ones you can grab right now. Wyrmstooth is like an expansion with new quests and dungeons. There’s also a mod that brings stuff from The Witcher games into SkyrimDragon Hall Tavern is another big 2GB mod that gives you more quests, places to explore, and even an arena. And don’t forget about Land of Vominhem and Legacy of the Dragonborn. You might also want to try this mod inspired by Castlevania, or the one that adds the cool Nemesis system from Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor. And last but not least, check out this DLC-sized Mod that adds six awesome new islands to explore.

Skyblivion will come out on PC in 2025. Right now, though, there isn’t any specific ETA. I don’t believe the game will slip into 2026. But hey, you never know.

Enjoy and stay tuned for more!

  1. For those interested, there's an early access Might & Magic wannabe on Steam, it's called "Strings of Fate XI: Magic dream".
People say that it's janky but still quite promising!

Man, that inventory brings me back to the good old days!

  2. John, the official oblivion remaster us already released and there is no official remake coming 🙂 did you use chatbot to write this news piece? 🙂

im very hyped for this mod because they remade all the dungeons while the official remaster did not and dungeons in it are very bland after a while.

    1. I used a paragraph from an older story (it was when Bethesda hadn't announced the remake). I intentionally included it to see whether ANYONE would bother reading the article (it's something I do occasionally so you might find such "easter eggs" in other older stories too). So, good catch man 😉

      1. Lol this is amazing hubris, "oh my typos and stupid crap i put in articles are to test if you are paying attention lolol". Next time i do something stupid i will say it is an easter egg to see if anyone is paying attention.

        1. Fun fact: Almost ten years ago, Eurogamer ‘borrowed’ one of my articles without giving credit. I had included a typo in the title on purpose, and they copied it—typo and all. People started accusing me of stealing their article, but once I pointed out the typo (as well as the exact time and day the articles were published), they finally stopped acting like angry kids.

Again, you can find hidden things in some articles. It’s not happening every week or month (because that would make those things pointless), but they are there if you can find them.

          1. Garbage in, garbage out, as they say. Probably a highlight of your career to be plagiarized by another crappy gaming website.

  3. "Unfocus and feature creep" or "You know what would be cool?" the mod.

This is a lesson in project management. You just can't possibly take 13 years to do it (however extensive), and proudly yap on how you added a ton of BS that wasn't part of the original body of work and takes additional development time. The non critical extras should have been for after 1.0 if it's already taking you upwards of a decade to put it out.

  4. These Skyrim remake mods (Morrowind and oblivion) are never coming out. They are just projects for developers to get into and later get a real job at a company.

as much as I would love play it. It's realistically never coming out. It's been 13 or more years now.

    1. This one is though, don't be confused… It's very close to completion, I doubt they'll make it in late 2025 as announced but otherwise 2026 and that's it.
