The modding team behind Fallout: Nuevo Mexico, a new DLC-sized expansion for Fallout: New Vegas, has released a new trailer for it. This trailer focuses on Mexico City which serves as the biggest hub in the game. So, let’s take a look at it.
Fallout: Nuevo Mexico takes place in the year 2255. From the looks of it, players will assume the role of a new prisoner who arrives at Tibbet’s Prison.
The devs claim that players can join several new factions in the game. The mod will also include three special companions, and there will be a new companion system that changes how you build relationships with them. Plus, there will be lots of new activities to try out, and you’ll get to explore different states and locations.
The last time we heard about Fallout: Nuevo Mexico was back in July 2023. And now, over one year later, we still don’t know when the mod will come out. This is a bit disappointing.
Don’t get me wrong. Fallout: Nuevo Mexico feels like a great fan expansion for Fallout: New Vegas. However, it already looks dated. And, honestly, I don’t know whether there will be enough people to play it. It will sure make a lot of headlines though, so that’s at least something.
If you are into Fallout: New Vegas, you can also try these other mods for it. For instance, this mod adds real-time reflections. Another one changes over 1,000 functions to make the game run smoother. Oh, and there’s a mod that reduces landscape texture seams. Plus, there’s a mod to make the game’s characters even smarter. Another must-have mod is this one which improves collision accuracy, and fixes/optimizes meshes.
In June 2024, we shared a mod that brought to the game some STALKER-like anomalies. Moreover, you can get this mod that adds physically-based vehicles to the game. And if you love quests, there’s a mod that gives you an endless supply of new ones. Let’s also not forget Visuals Improved Content Expanded Mod. This mod fills the surroundings of Vegas to make it feel more like a real city.
There are also some cool fan-made expansions for New Vegas. Four of them are being made as we speak. These are Fallout: Broken City, Fallout Van buren Remake, Fallout: Nuevo Mexico and Star Wars Open Worlds. On the other hand, we have these DLC-sized mods that you can grab and play right now. These fan expansion mods are Fallout New California, Fallout: Free Cheyenne Demo, Fallout New Vegas: Out of Bounds and Fallout The Frontier.

"However, it already looks dated." Compared to what, exactly? Game looked like butt when it came out. If you're referring to the other major mods like New California or The Frontier, only the latter had any serious work put into the visuals, and that's still within the constraints of FNV.
The potential in gaming is HUGE to explore lesser known cities/area of the globe, and explore their culture and enviroment…But we seem to always get New York/ SanFran/ east coast USA. I enjoyed Days Gone immensely just for the environment and crater lake. I want a crime game based in Athens of today or a Mongolian/Golden horde game. we get open world new york again again…. cool to see a Mexico city setting.
