FromSoftware has just released Patch 1.12 for Elden Ring, and from the looks of it this update brings major performance improvements on PC.
From the looks of it, these performance improvements are solely for the game’s Ray Tracing effects. So, if you don’t use RT in this title, you might not see any performance benefits from it.
YouTube’s ‘MxBenchmarkPC’ has shared the following video that compares the game’s previous version with its latest one. And, as we can see, there is a 20% performance increase in version 1.12. That was on an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080.
Basically, thanks to this patch, owners of an RTX 4080 will be able to enjoy the game at Native 4K with Ray Tracing and 60fps. Since the game does not natively support DLSS, that’s a huge win.
Speaking of DLSS, there is a free NVIDIA DLSS 3.5 Super Resolution Mod that you can download. So, if you want to play the game with its Ray Tracing effects, I highly recommend using it. There is also a DLSS 3 Frame Generation Mod but that is still behind a Patreon wall.
Finally, there are some cool mods you can grab for Elden Ring. One adds co-op support, while another brings a parry system like Metal Gear Rising Revengeance. Now if you don’t want to use the MGRR Mod, you can try this one that adds Sekiro-like deflection & dodge mechanics. You can also find an unofficial Survival Mode mod. Make also sure to check out Primeval Balance V3 for new character classes with cool moves. And don’t miss the fantastic first-person mod. And finally, if you want to improve its graphics, there’s a huge 25GB HD Texture Pack for over 4500 textures. In theory, these mods should be compatible with the game’s latest version.

Enjoy and stay tuned for more!

That would be good if raytracing actually did anything in this game.
Does Elden Ring still have traversal stutters?
I remember Digital Foundry making a video about how Valve managed to fix those for the Steam Deck:

Being able to hoard some of the best technical developers in the world is really paying Valve huge dividends…
Yes those stutters are still there, together with broken SSAO and low GPU usage.
Typical FromCrapware. The same was with Dark Souls 3 and Sekiro, for both games the workaround is DXVK.
It happens less but they were still there when my friends and I had played earlier this week on Nvidia GPUs, AMD GPUs and steam deck. Not sure if the latest patch fixed that 100%.
I don't have any stutters in Elden Ring since day one, is more of a problem with NVidia poor drivers on low level APIs.
Same thing that happened with most releases last year, where NVidia users had performance issues in most games, I was flying at 60 stable FPS on max settings.
Honestly only Wild Hearts gave me problems, due to it's poor CPU optimisation.

From one of the best PC gaming sites to UE chill and cheap click-bait site
Only the PC version has RT, so it's true?
But not all PCs have RT, and not all RT hardware owners play with RT On
"performance improvement" but still capped at 60 fps..,
Which sucks considering Armored Core 6 runs on the same engine and supports 120 fps natively. There's been a mod since launch for 120 fps and doesn't cause major issues to my knowledge, but you have to play offline with it to avoid risk of a ban.
I think it has to do with the amount of resources that Elden Ring renders at one time in the open world compared to the "smaller" and lessed detailed boards with generally less actors in Armored Core.
Oh no, anyway, https://www.nexusmods.com/eldenring/mods/216
+ No support for resolutions like 21:1 and so on.
On top of the frame rate improvements, it looks like both VRAM and system RAM usage has decreased.
On my system which has a 4080 i get around 40 fps with max raytracing after the new patch.
I even get drops to 35 fps.
i have a 13600k and 4080, but the game seems to severely underperform. I don't see it back in the GPU usage which is at 100 %.
stick to x86 CPU and windows 10
Just to be clear, those anti-cheat solutions are running at the kernel-level on Windows x86, too.
None of the mods listed will work cause they all outdated, so is a nice to make people unable to play, bad suggestions.
please do NOT use a DLSS 3.5 mod to get more frames in Elden Ring — at least not the kind that changes the actual game's behavior. I've heard some people got banned for it — it looks like cheating stuff to that anti-cheat software of theirs. be careful.
