Steam Announces Early Access For Upcoming Games, Let’s Players Influence Game Development

Steam
Now this really interesting. Steam has announced an early access program for a number of upcoming games, with which players can interact with the developers and influence the development of a game. Contrary to pre-order, early access is an immediate purchase of a game and gives the ability to the player to immediately download its latest build and experiment with it. This is precisely what is currently happening with Bohemia’s military sim, ArmA 3, and there are currently 11 more games supporting this new access program. Half-Life VR For Oculus Rift Looks Epically Amazing, New Video Showcases Head & Gun Tracking

Half Life
Nathan Andrews has released a new video, showcasing his Half-Life Oculus Rift mod. Half-Life VR adds full head tracking and weapon tracking to Half-Life 2 in preparation for the Oculus Rift dev kit launch. This is full 360 degree, 1 to 1 tracking on both the head and weapon, there are no gimmicks or constraints between where you aim and your field of view. Nathan Andrews mod appears to be also compatible with  FakeFactory’s Cinematic Mod. This looks epic, so go ahead and watch it. VR is almost upon us! Half-Life 2: Enhancement Mod Promises To Overhaul Games’ Visuals, Will Support POM & Dynamic Shadows

Half Life
Half Life 2 is still considered one of the best FPS games to date. Naturally, Valve’s FPS starts to show its age, and that’s why we recommend using mods such the mind-blowing Cinematic Mod. Despite the fact that this particular mod overhaul the game’s visuals (the texture work that has been done to it is among the best we’ve ever seen), a lot of gamers were put off by the alternative models of some characters. If you were one of them, you’ll be happy to here that a team of modders is working on a new graphical mod for Half Life 2 called Half-Life 2: Enhancement Mod.
