The Astronauts’ Adrian Chmielarz told Eurogamer that the updated UE4 version of The Vanishing of Ethan Carter is a few weeks away. Originally developed on Unreal Engine 3, The Astronauts decided to port it to Epic’s new engine as a means of bringing this game to current-gen consoles. And in order to thank PC gamers, The Astronauts decided to give away this new updated version completely free to all owners of the game. As we’ve already said, 2014 was a pretty interesting year. The Vanishing of Ethan Carter Sold 60K Copies In Its First Month

The Astronauts has shared with us a little infographic, showing the first month’s sales data for The Vanishing of Ethan Carter. According to the company, 60K copies of the game have been sold this far with 77% of them coming directly from Steam. The rest 23% consists of sales from GOG, retail and other digital platforms, thus proving how big Valve’s platform has become. Independent Polish group of urban explorers, called Adventure Hunters, prepared and published movie showing outstandingly beautiful and mysterious places, which were an inspiration for game creators from The Astronauts studio. The Vanishing Of Ethan Carter – Video-Game Versus Reality Comparison

Reddit’s member ‘Kajmel1‘ has shared some comparison screenshots between the digital and the real locations of The Vanishing Of Ethan Carter. Do note that the in-game shots were captured from the commentary trailer of the game that was released a while ago (which basically explains their somehow low quality). This comparison proves that the in-game environments resemble the real locations on which they were based on, so kudos to the development team.
