Lately, we’ve asking ourselves one simple question: what makes a great screenshot? Is it the insane amount of detail, the clever camera angles, the extensive use of post-process effects, how close it can get to actual photos or how lovely its artistic direction can actually be? It’s a really weird question and there is no definite answer to that. Take for example the work of jin.dot.gae1 and orangebrains. Their images are nowhere closer to real photos but they have something unique, something mesmerizing. On the other hand, j1731’s shots can’t be easily mistaken for real photos and that makes them unique in their own way. In the end, a great in-game screenshot is – in our opinion – the screenshot that will leave you speechless and will make you re-install and play that game. And the following shots made us do exactly that. Enjoy and special thanks to modders schakusa, 3lajitz, DenDi333, legacyy, King of K, Jaizeta, Black_D, Simple999 and ngt for capturing them! Hayssam Keilany has released some amazing screenshots from his on-going 2.1 version of iCEnhancer for GTA IV. What’s really important here is that this version will support indirect lighting which – naturally – results to better image quality. The downside of this lighting method is that it introduces a slight ‘glow’ under car wheels. It can be noticed in some of the following screenshots. There is no ETA for this mod as of yet, so stay tuned for more news about it. Enjoy! Continue reading New drooling GTA IV iCEnhancer 2.1 Screenshots, new version supports indirect lighting→
Rockstar released the first video in a special two-part series for Max Payne 3’s Multiplayer mode. In the video below, see how Max Payne 3 Multiplayer brings the franchise’s combination of highly responsive and cinematic shooting action to the realm of online multiplayer across a range of game modes, the implementation of Max’s signature Bullet Time special ability and how we utilized the third-person perspective – allowing players to connect with a character they can see while still retaining full fluid control during gunplay. Max Payne 3 is slated for a June release for the PC. Enjoy! Continue reading Max Payne 3 – Multiplayer Gameplay Trailer Part One→
A lot of GTA fans believe that the third part (and first full 3D game of the series) was the best. Naturally, most of them wanted to experience it with better graphics and thankfully there are currently two projects that aim to offer just that. The first one is called GTA III RAGE and has been in development since July 2011. The second one is a brand new project that may look similar to GTA III RAGE, but it’s a completely different approach from a different modder (and features a mix between Liberty City Stories and GTA III). This second mod has barely been started and the following video shows a part of the city of GTA III that has been converted to the RAGE engine. Some interesting GTA V details got leaked yesterday and as with every major leak, we’d advise you to take the following with a grain of salt. However, they seem kind of reasonable and legit, so this could very well be the real deal guys. Someone have posted a massive list of unreleased information about Grand Theft Auto V at GameSpot’s forums and to our surprise, both the thread and the user got deleted/banned. After revealing that Max Payne 3 will support DX11 and tessellation, Rockstar has issued a press release in which they have also unveiled that the PC version will support both Nvidia’s 3D Vision and numeral graphical options. However – and given the fact that the company stated that the 3D functionality will be optional – we can assume that the game won’t be a 3D-Ready title. Moreover, we all remember the SLI/CrossFire issues that plagued GTA IV, so it will be interesting to see how Max Payne 3 performs with such PC configurations. It will also be interesting to see whether or not there will be a FOV setting in the supported graphical options. Continue reading Max Payne 3 PC will support 3D Vision and numeral graphical options→
