PREY – Patch 1.05 detailed, full release notes unveiled

Arkane Studios has detailed the new upcoming patch 1.05 for PREY. Although the team did not reveal the exact date that it will go live (update: the patch is now available), it revealed its complete changelog. According to the release notes, this patch will fix an issue that prevented players from  rebooting Power Plant for the “Reboot” mission after killing the Technopath in Life Support. AMD Radeon Vega Frontier Edition runs PREY & Rise of the Tomb Raider significantly slower than the NVIDIA GTX1080

DudeRandom84 has benched the AMD Radeon Vega Frontier Edition in PREY and Rise of the Tomb Raider, and shared his results (which are really interesting). PREY is a title that AMD chose to showcase its RX Vega GPU at Computex 2017, however it appears that AMD’s latest graphics is running this game noticeably slower than NVIDIA’s default GTX1080 GPU. Someone has beaten Arkane’s PREY in just under seven minutes

Youtube’s “seeker TV” has shared a video in which he completed Arkane’s PREY in less than seven minutes. This is the fastest speedrun for PREY and Seeker used some glitches in order to access the game’s later stages. It’s a really cool speedrun, so be sure to watch it! AMD Radeon Software Crimson 17.6.1 released, improves performance in DiRT 4 and PREY

AMD has released a new driver for its graphics cards. According to the release notes, the AMD Radeon Software Crimson ReLive Edition 17.6.1 driver improves Crossfire performance by up to 30% performance improvement when using 8xMSAA (measured on Radeon RX 580 8GB) in DiRT 4 and overall performance by up to 4% in PREY. Prey – Patch 1.04 is now available, brings various FOV improvements

Bethesda has released a new update for the PC version of PREY. According to the release notes, this patch adjusts timing on several cutscenes, adjusts several cut-scenes to play properly with modified FOV settings, and tweaks mouse sensitivity so that it can no longer be affected by extreme FOV settings. Prey’s demo was running comfortably above 60fps in 4K at AMD’s Computex conference

Yesterday, AMD showcased Prey running in 4K on two Radeon RX Vega graphics cards. However, that demo did not include any FPS counter and there was noticeable tearing. As such, we began wondering what was the point of showing this demo. And it appears we weren’t the only ones as a lot of people started questioning this upcoming graphics card, forcing AMD’s Raja Koduri to comment and state that the Prey demo was running with more than 60fps. According to the release notes, this driver further improves in PREY by up to 4.5% (measured on Radeon RX 580 8GB graphics when compared to Radeon Software Crimson ReLive edition 17.5.1).
