A Game of Dwarves – Developer Diary

Paradox Interactive has released the first developer diary video in which Robin Flodin of Zeal Game Studios talks about their upcoming management-strategy game. Developed by Zeal Game Studios, A Game of Dwarves takes a dwarven prince on a quest to reclaim his people’s old country. New Sword of the Stars II: Lords of Winter Update Released

Kerberos Studios released a new patch for their space strategy game, Sword of the Stars II: Lords of Winter. This update will be auto-downloaded next time you start the Steam client and comes with various fixes. Sword of the Stars II: Lords of Winter is the full stand-alone follow-up to the hit 4X-styled Sword of the Stars franchise. The game is a major step forward in 4X gameplay, taking the easy-to-learn-but-hard-to-master philosophy set out in SotS1 and following that path to a new standard in space strategy games. Paradox Interactive has released a new update for Crusader Kings II, the long awaited sequel to Crusader Kings that is developed by the acclaimed team behind the Europa Universalis, Hearts of Iron and Victoria series. Ouch – King Arthur II’s PR manager believes that 24fps are fine for the human eye

I’m shocked. I’m seriously shocked since this thing came from a PR manager and not from a misinformed person. According to King Arthur II: The Role-Playing Wargame’s Kate, 24fps are pretty enough as the human eye sees them as fluid as the cinema movies. NO our dear Kate, you are wrong in so many levels and we’re surprised by your answer. The human eye can even see above 100fps. And regarding those 24fps, there is a huge difference between a movie (and how it’s been captured) and a game. Paradox Interactive and Neocore Games have announced that the highly anticipated dark fantasy RTS/RPG King Arthur II – The Role-playing Wargame is now available in English on PC for $39.99 in retail and through all major digital download portals. Magicka celebrates One Year Anniversary, new Magicka expansion announced

Paradox Interactive and Arrowhead Game Studios today announced that smash hit indie game Magicka has reached the one year mark and that the core game has sold 1.3 million copies to date. Moreover, Magicka: Vietnam has also gone on to sell more than 500,000 copies and various DLC available for the Magicka universe has been downloaded over 4 million times. Fred Wester, CEO of Paradox Interactive, believes that DRM doesn’t work and is a waste of money

We’ve been hearing from a lot of publishers that DRM is the only way to protect their games against piracy. Well, there have been a few developers that were critisizing that – Croteam and CD Projekt RED are two of them that actually think that a quality game will sell, no matter what – and here comes Paradox Interactive to state what we’ve been saying this entire time. DRM is not working, it costs money to developers and makes the life of those that purchased the ‘DRM-games’ a living hell. Paradox Interactive has released the announcement trailer of their upcoming strategy / management game, A Game of Dwarves. The game is developed by Zeal Game Studios, and takes a dwarven prince on a quest to reclaim his people’s old country. Players will have to control a settlement of dwarves, who are able to dig, build and conduct research in order to strengthen your clan. And did we mention that there are beasts that will hunt you down? Or that your dwarves can also level up and gain new skills? Sounds cool, right? Well, what are you waiting for? Go ahead and give a spin to the trailer. A Game of Dwarfes is slated for a 2012 on PC and PSN.
