PC sales dropped 16% year-over-year in June due to Overwatch’s success, F2P & P2P keep growing

SuperData has released its worldwide digital video games stats for June 2017. According to the stats, the PC segment dropped 16% compared to last year’s June. As SuperData pointed out, this is mainly due to Overwatch’s incredible success back in 2016; a game that really boosted overall PC sales in 2016. Overwatch: Game of the Year Edition hits retail stores on July 28th

Blizzard has announced that a retail version of Overwatch: Game of the Year Edition will arrive in retail stores on July 28th. Starting next week, new players can suit up and save the world join the fight for the future with an enhanced boxed version of the team-based shooter that’s won over more than 100 game of the year awards. LoL was the top earning PC game in May, Overwatch & Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds still doing great

Superdata has released some new stats, reporting that  while the worldwide digital video games market grew 9% year-over-year in May, PC sales declined by 30%. This decline was mainly due to Overwatch’s release in May 2016 which significantly boosted PC sales back then.
