We always liked Bugbear’s games. FlatOut was a great arcade racing series and run flawlessly in a lot of PC system configurations. Naturally, we thought that Ridge Racer: Unbounded would live up to the standards that were set by the Finish studio. Sadly though, what we have in our hands is a shoddy console port of a really promising game. Not only, that, but Ridge Racer: Unbounded suffers from all the flaws and issues that plagued the entire FlatOut series. Yes, there is rubber band and yes the controls are a mess, especially if you try to play the game with the keyboard, something that was no issue with the FlatOut games. Man, Ridge Racer: Unbounded PC was certainly broken at its time of release. Alongside the Level Editor bug, the game suffered from a Multiplayer issue. According to the developers, this might be due to a PC patch issue preventing the City Creator from launching. We hate to be the bearers of bad news. Unfortunately though, a nice co-op feature that was found in the PS3 version of Street Fighter x Tekken won’t find its way into the upcoming PC version. Local co-op allows two players to go online as a team on one console and play. This feature is not supported in the X360 version of the game and as Capcom’s Christian Svensson revealed, it won’t be included even in the PC version.
