SimCity Will Not Require An Always-On Internet Connection

All hell has broken loose yesterday, when a lot of gaming sites reported that the new SimCity game would require an always-on internet connection in order to be played. Well, it seems that this is not entirely true as EA has made a clarification about it. As it was reported by GameSpy, the game will require an internet connection in order to be started. New SimCity Details; more accessible, richest & most sophisticated simulation, bullet physics engine

Maxis’ Andrew, Kip, Ocean and Dan have revealed some interesting new details – in a Reddit IAMA discussion – about their upcoming SimCity game. According to the developers, the new SimCity will take advantage of the bullet physics engine and they are targeting for a stylized look which has a mesmerizing charm about it. Moreover, this new SimCity game will be more accessible to the newcomers. This is a crucial thing for Maxis as they want to expand their game. However, the developers wanted to let us know that the game won’t be dumbed down in any way. Sim City V is coming to the PC in 2013, will be a fully 3D title, powered by a new physics engine

During EA’s GDC 2012 press conference, Maxis’ Lucy Bradshaw has announced that Sim City V will hit PCs in 2013. Yeap, it’s official. Sim City V (that will be named simply SimCity as it’s a franchise reboot) is coming to the PC next year and will be a fully 3D title. Contrary to all previous Sim City titles, Sim City V will be the first 3D title and will feature a new game engine. Not only that, but the game will also come with a new physics engine that was developed for it. Sim City 5 – Artworks Leaked; New Graphics Engine and Multiplayer Mode

Leaks leaks leaks. It seems that every major game has suffered from leaks and we can add to that list Maxis’ upcoming Sim City game, Sim City 5. Spotted by NeoGaf, german magazine GameStar claims that Maxis is preparing the fifth part of this series for a 2013 launch and that the game is currently completed at around 30%. In addition, Sim City 5 will feature a new graphics engine, various cities, and a multiplayer mode. Maxis has promised that they’ll reveal something in GDC next week. Could this be Sim City 5?
