Miner Wars 2081 is currently slated for release on the second half of 2012

Keen Software has revealed that the official release date for Miner Wars 2081 is scheduled for second half of 2012. The company will announce a ‘more specific’ release date once they arrive at the final test phase. Rather than releasing quickly and all of a sudden, Keen Software would like to ensure the game has been polished and handles well. Instead of rushing to meet the deadlines, they want to move forward with a ‘will release when it is finished’ mentality. Miner Wars 2081 promises to be a combination between Descent, Elite/Freespace & Red Faction

Keen Software House announced today their outcomes of GDC 2012 in San Francisco. According to the developers, about 98% of visitors had never heard of Miner Wars before and it seems that everyone loves the idea of Descent + Elite/Freespace + Red Faction combined with a fully destructible environment. In fact, Miner Wars 2081 seems to be the only game in the world with a fully destructible environment as no other comparable game utilizes this feature to such an extent. New Miner Wars 2081 Build comes with updated and added features; new screenshots revealed

Keen Software has released a new Miner Wars 2081 build with updated and added features to their last Major Editor Update. According to the company, a bunch of new features and improvements were made to the last major editor update, (provided with the latest free demo of Miner Wars)! You can find bellow a comprehensive list of added functionality and improvements. We should note that the current Test Build is available now, but only for our paying customers; the new public demo is coming in a few weeks. Keen Software released six new screenshots for their upcoming space shooter, Miner Wars 2081. Miner Wars 2081 is a 6DOF interior and space shooter played in a fully destructible environment featuring single player, co-op, and standard multi-player modes, with an MMOG in the planning stages. Miner Wars 2.5D Announced; Coming to the PC on January 2012

Keen Software House announced today a new project: Miner Wars 2.5D, a fast-paced arcade game inspired by classical legend of PC gaming history Tuneller. In Miner Wars 2.5D, player controls one mining ship and ventures through an underground labyrinth of pathways, old abandoned mines, asteroids and military bases. Situated in a fully destructible environment, player is not forced to use already existing pathways, but can (and should) make tunnels of his own using the ship’s equipment – especially drill and explosives. Miner Wars 2081 – Killer Features Trailer

Keen Software released today a new trailer for Miner Wars 2081 that shows the recently added features of the current development version. Soon many of those features will be available in a new public demo. Keen Software is approaching to the end of the pre-alpha phase of development where they focused on technical aspects (VRAGE engine) and they are now moving into the large scale gameplay development phase. Miner Wars 2081 – Public Pre-Alpha Demo Released

Keen Software released today a demo build of their upcoming 6DOF space and base shooter, Miner Wars 2081. Miner Wars 2081 is played in an entirely destructible environment and will include single-player, co-op, and standard multi-player modes – with an MMOG in the works. The demo is 630MB in size and is based on the game’s latest build. The demo also sports the new rendering engine, as well as many other tweaks, including automatic turrets on motherships and numerous other cool stuff like 12 new playable ships (22 ships total). Miner Wars 2081 – Advanced Rendering Engine Revealed

Keen Software has just announced that their in-house VRAGE engine got some brand new hi-end features implemented. VRAGE now supports Image-Based Anti-Aliasing (FXAA), Screen Space Ambient Occlusion, Real spot lights with shadows, Sun light with much better precision, HDR, environmental textures, bloom/blur and Multiple monitor support.
