Now this is really shocking. You’d expect to hear that Gears of War was the most profitable game for Epic Games but it seems that is not the case. According to Tim Sweeney, CEO of Epic Games, the most profitable game for Epic, in terms of man years invested versus revenue, is Infinity Blade. Yeap, a mobile game is more profitable than the X360’s exclusive Juggernaut. The key thing here though is the ‘in terms of man years invested versus revenue‘ clarification, which means that Sweeney was not referring to total profits for the company. Still though, it’s shocking how Infinity Blade can give triple-A titles a run for their money. Continue reading Shocking: Infinity Blade is the most profitable game for Epic Games, surpassing even Gears of War→

Yesterday, we shared the first set of screenshots from Epic’ Unreal Engine 4. Well, time for some brand new shots as Wired has unveiled seven new shots from their gigantic feature. Unreal Engine 4 looks lovely but we have to admit that we were not shocked as much as when Epic showcased Unreal Engine 3, back in the days. Or when we saw the Samaritan Tech Demo. To put it simple; although the screenshots are not as impressive as the Samaritan Tech Demo, they look beautiful and up-to-date with what other modern/future game engines can do. Unreal Engine 4 will be officially revealed in E3, this June, so stay tuned for more. Enjoy! Continue reading Unreal Engine 4 – 7 new screenshots revealed→
Great news for graphics whores as Epic Games has revealed the first set of screenshots from the next version of their acclaimed engine, the Unreal Engine. These Unreal Engine 4 shots showcase a game (or a tech demo) that looks similar to Skyrim. We do know that Skyrim was a big success to the PC and Epic Games have revealed during GDC2012 that they’re developing a PC exclusive title. Naturally, most of us expected this title to be a showcase title for Unreal Engine 4, so could these screenshots actually be from the PC exclusive title that Epic has in store for us? One can only guess but if that’s the case, we can expect an RPG game from the studio that brought us the Unreal and the Gears of War series. But then again, the studio stated that the PC exclusive title would be a shooter and this is definitely not a shooter. So, a PC exclusive title or an RPG for next-generation platforms? Whatever the case might be, you can enjoy the shots after the jump! Continue reading First Unreal Engine 4 Shots showcase a Skyrim-like game; could this be Epic’s PC exclusive title?→

The biggest rival of iD Software was created in – almost – the same day that iD’s first indie title – as iD was an indie studio back then – was released, a game that was meant to make them popular to the gaming industry.
