Cloud Imperium: Star Citizen Unlikely To Support DX10 GPUs Or Systems With Less Than 8GB RAM

Star Citizen is perhaps one of the most visually impressive PC-only titles that are coming to our platform and as you may already know, it’s powered by Crytek’s engine. However, the official PC requirements for its Arena Commanded module seemed quite high. Which made us wonder whether the team would lower them in the near future. Apparently, that’s not going to happen. Continue reading Cloud Imperium: Star Citizen Unlikely To Support DX10 GPUs Or Systems With Less Than 8GB RAM

This Is What Next-Gen Fifa Would Look Like In CRYENGINE – Project Complete

Back in March, we shared with you a video showing off a soccer project in CRYENGINE. That project gave us a glimpse at what FIFA could look like in Crytek’s engine. Creator and polycount member ‘Gkan’ has finished this project and shared a number of screenshots. Ironically enough, this fan-made version of the Emirates Stadium looks way better than what EA Sports and Konami have produced for their current-gen versions of FIFA 15 and PES 2015. In short, this is what a true next-gen soccer game should look like. Enjoy! Continue reading This Is What Next-Gen Fifa Would Look Like In CRYENGINE – Project Complete

Shadow Warrior-inspired Environment Recreated In CRYENGINE, Looks Beautiful

Polycount’s member ‘Censored_ID‘ has shared a new set of screenshots, showing the final version of his Asian Temple map in CRYENGINE that reminded us of Shadow Warrior. CRYENGINE Beaten At Its Own Game – New Unreal Engine 4 Map Shows Amazing Forest Environment

It seems that Unreal Engine 4 will be the engine that most developers will be using to power their games. Or at least it will be more popular than Crytek’s CRYENGINE, as Epic’s engine is now capable of rendering forest – and jungle – maps that look as good (if not better) as the ones of CRYENGINE. YouTube’s member ‘Hristo Rusanov’ has shared a video from his Forest map, showing a map with dense grass and wind physics applied to the vegetation. It looks amazing (keep also in mind that it’s being created by an individual and that it’s still a WIP project), so make sure to give it a go! After Seven Whole Years, Crysis Remains One Of The Best Looking Games Ever [Screenshots + Mods]

After today’s news, we really felt the need to take a look back at the game that made Crytek the King of PC graphics. When it was released, Crysis was THE best looking game. Seven years afterwards and Crytek’s masterpiece still manages to put a lot of triple-A multi-platform titles to shame. Of course, the vanilla Crysis had some graphical shortcomings but thanks to its modding community, Crysis has easily evolved into a game that looks marvelous even to this date. The Witcher 3 – CRYENGINE vs REDengine Comparison + Doom 2 Remake In Unreal Engine 4

Crydev member ‘qpffhtmxj’ has recreated in CRYENGINE the swamp level (or at least part of it) from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, giving us a glimpse at the differences between CRYENGINE and REDengine. While this fan-made map is being compared to a level created by a whole team (which doesn’t seem fair at all), it does show some differences in the lighting system of these two engines. In addition, you can find below a very early WIP map from ‘SahkanISR’ that shows what a modern-day remake of Doom 2 would look like in Unreal Engine 4. Enjoy! Crytek has been facing major economic issues and since its staff has not been receiving payments these past months, a lot of it decided to move to other companies.
