AMD sees the biggest quarterly CPU market share increase in recent years according to PassMark’s reports

Back in March, AMD released its new Ryzen CPUs. And while these CPUs under-performed in gaming, they are still considered great CPUs (especially due to their lower prices, at least when compared to Intel’s counterparts). AMD Radeon Vega Frontier Edition performs somewhere between the GTX1070 & the GTX1080 in a variety of games

PCPer got its hands on an AMD Radeon Vega Frontier Edition and ran some gaming benchmarks on it, and the results were a bit underwhelming. Now as we’ve already said, this graphics card is for workstations and even though AMD has included a gaming mode in its latest drivers for this graphics card, it is slower than the gaming variant that will be coming out in late July. AMD’s Radeon Vega Frontier Edition releases today, competes with NVIDIA’s Titan XP in specific games

AMD’s Radeon Vega Frontier Edition will be released today and a couple of days ago, AMD showcased this brand new GPU in a very closed environment at its test lab. This new graphics card is meant for workstations and even though it runs games worse than its upcoming consumer counterpart, AMD did showcase some games running on it. AMD Radeon Software Crimson 17.6.1 released, improves performance in DiRT 4 and PREY

AMD has released a new driver for its graphics cards. According to the release notes, the AMD Radeon Software Crimson ReLive Edition 17.6.1 driver improves Crossfire performance by up to 30% performance improvement when using 8xMSAA (measured on Radeon RX 580 8GB) in DiRT 4 and overall performance by up to 4% in PREY. New leaked benchmark shows AMD’s Radeon RX Vega is faster than NVIDIA’s Titan XP in DOOM [Rumour]

Now here is an interesting leak. Chinese website KKJ has leaked an image from what appears to be an official AMD press slides in which we see the red team pitting its new RX Vega GPU against NVIDIA’s Titan XP, and the results are quite surprising. Prey’s demo was running comfortably above 60fps in 4K at AMD’s Computex conference

Yesterday, AMD showcased Prey running in 4K on two Radeon RX Vega graphics cards. However, that demo did not include any FPS counter and there was noticeable tearing. As such, we began wondering what was the point of showing this demo. And it appears we weren’t the only ones as a lot of people started questioning this upcoming graphics card, forcing AMD’s Raja Koduri to comment and state that the Prey demo was running with more than 60fps. AMD confirms that it will showcase its new Radeon RX Vega gaming/consumer graphics card at Computex

In a Reddit AMA, AMD’s Chief Architect Radeon Technologies Group, Raja Koduri, confirmed that the red team will be showing is new Radeon RX Vega graphics card at this year’s Computex. Not only that, but this gaming-oriented version of the Vega chipset may actually be faster than the recently announced Radeon Vega Frontier Edition GPU.
