Rumour: AMD Radeon Navi delayed until Q4 2019

AMD has just released the Radeon VII to the market; a graphics card that – apart from the huge amount of VRAM that is equipped with – feels a bit underwhelming compared to the feature list of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX2080. This release felt more like a stopgap  until Navi hits streets and from the looks of it, the first GPUs powered by Navi will be delayed until Q4 2019. The embargo for AMD Radeon VII’s reviews will lift later today and it appears that the first gaming benchmarks for it have been leaked online. AMD has released a brand new driver for its graphics cards. According to the release notes, the AMD Radeon Software Adrenalin 2019 Edition 19.2.1 driver is optimized for Apex Legends and The Division 2’s private beta. Furthermore, this driver increases performance by up to 5% performance in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey on a Radeon RX Vega 64 graphics card. AMD Radeon VII 3DMark and Final Fantasy XV benchmarks leaked online

AMD Radeon VII releases on February 7th and while the red team released a few gaming benchmarks, some new benchmarks were leaked online yesterday. AMD has released a new driver for its graphics cards. According to the release notes, the AMD Radeon Software Adrenalin 2019 Edition 19.1.2 is optimized for Resident Evil 2 Remake and Tropico 6. Furthermore, this driver improves performance by up to 7% in Anthem Early Access on the Radeon RX 580 graphics card. AMD Radeon VII supports DirectML, could be used as an alternative to NVIDIA’s Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS)

In an interview with 4Gamers, AMD’s Adam Kozak confirmed that the newly announced high-end AMD graphics card, the AMD Radeon VII, will support DirectML. DirectML is a Machine Learning (ML) extension to DirectX and Microsoft and NVIDIA have already showcased it super sampling video-games by using the AI.
