AMD’s RX 6000 series, ‘Big Navi’ GPUs, might possibly be unveiled tomorrow

According to Frank Azor who’s the Chief Architect of Gaming Solutions & Marketing over at AMD, the Big Navi cards might be teased tomorrow, September 10th. Frank Azor hinted this via a tweet, though he didn’t mention a direct reference to the Navi 2x GPU. But we can hope to get some glimpse on AMD’s RDNA 2 GPU lineup, or even on the upcoming ZEN 3 CPU architecture, if this tweet is anything to go by. AMD’s upcoming ZEN 3 Ryzen 4000 “Vermeer” series of processors might come in 10-core SKU flavors

During the latest earnings call for the second quarter of 2020, AMD reaffirmed its plans to introduce Zen 3-based Ryzen 4000 client Desktop CPUs and RDNA 2-based Navi 2X GPUs in the second half of 2020. This means Zen 3 and Navi 2x product lineup from AMD is on track. The next-generation Ryzen 4000 series of desktop processors are based on the Zen 3 architecture, and these processors are codenamed as Vermeer. AMD’s upcoming Ryzen 5000 ‘Cezanne’ APUs will feature 8 ZEN 3 cores per core complex/CCX

AMD plans to release next-gen APUs by next year. The Ryzen 5000 Cezanne APU lineup will be a direct successor to Renoir. These are rumored to be based on the ZEN 3 architecture. These might target the high-end notebook (FP6), and mid-range desktop APU segment (AM4 socket). ASUS confirms A520 motherboard chipset will support AMD’s Cezanne APUs, & future ZEN 3 processors

AMD recently announced its entry-level budget A520 motherboard chipset for the 3rd Gen Ryzen ‘Matisse’ processor family, as well as the Athlon and Ryzen 4000G processors based on the ‘Renoir’ silicon. But similar to the B550 Chipset, it does not offer support for the Ryzen 3 3200G and Ryzen 5 3400G processors based on the ‘Picasso’ silicon, as well as other older 2nd and 1st Gen Ryzen CPUs. AMD files a patent for a similar ‘big.LITTLE’ hybrid computing CPU architecture as ARM

In a surprise move AMD has recently filed a patent for a hybrid computing approach similar to ARM’s big.LITTLE technique and CPU design, in which high performance cores are paired with power efficient low-power smaller cores.
