Tekken 8 feature-2

Tekken 8 April Emergency Patch 2.00.02 Released & Fully Detailed

Bandai Namco has just released the April Emergency Patch, also known as Patch 2.00.02, for Tekken 8, and shared its full patch notes. So, let’s see what this update brings to the table.

According to the Tekken devs, this update brings some changes to make the game less aggressive. To be more precise, it increases the health of all characters. Moreover, it makes changes to some moves that were really powerful.

Furthermore, Patch 2.00.02 rebalances the offensive and defensive aspects of the Heat System. It revises damage scaling when using Heat Dash to suppress combo damage inflation. It also adjusts frame advantage on hit for Heat Engagers. Plus, it reduces the chip damage players can inflict during Heat.

The patch also adjusts matching to make it easier to pair with opponents whose highest-ranked character is closer to your own. As such, it may take more time to find an appropriate opponent. And, in my opinion, this may turn into a big issue.

You see, before this update, it would take a LONG TIME to find matches on both Ranked and Quick Play. I kid you not. In some cases, you could wait for 30 whole minutes. That was unacceptable. So, longer queue times may force players to simply drop the game.

I also don’t see anything regarding the cheating issue that has plagued Tekken 8. Bandai Namco has not added any anti-cheat system. This means that you will still find cheaters who use cheats for auto-block, auto-duck and auto-block-break.

Like always, Steam will download this update the next time you launch its client. Below you can also find its complete list of changes. So, make sure to read them.
