KOEI Tecmo and Team Ninja have released a new patch for the PC version of Rise of the Ronin. According to the devs, the April 30th Update, also known as Patch 1.09.0.4, aims to reduce the stutters in the game.
Going into more details, Patch 1.09.0.4 improves stuttering issues on specific stages and circumstances. As such, the game should have fewer hiccups now. Moreover, the update adds a recovery process for save data with issues in progressing the bond mission “In Search of New Knowledge”. And… well… that’s it.
Rise of the Ronin had optimization issues when it came out on PC. As I wrote in my PC Performance Analysis, the game SHOULD run better for the visuals it displayed on screen. To put things into perspective, it looked and ran worse than Ghost of Tsushima. Thus, it felt like a mixed bag. It wasn’t a total mess, but it also wasn’t a game that could “wow” you with its optimization.
It’s really a shame because, as a game, Rise of the Ronin was more enjoyable than Assassin’s Creed: Shadows. KOEI Tecmo had a big opportunity here. The combat system of Rise of the Ronin is more interesting than both GoT and AC: Shadows. At least in my opinion. Its story is also quite good. This could have been a big hit on PC.
Anyway, like always, Steam will download this update the next time you launch its client. Below, you can also find its complete changelog.
