Now this is really wonderful. Chris Taylor has just canceled the Kickstarter campaign of Wildman and George Broussard, Cliff Bleszinski and Notch decided to discuss whether or not the Kickstarter ‘magic’ is fading out. In fact, everything started by Bleszinski when he wondered whether Kickstarter is feeling ‘kind of… played out …lately‘ or not. Wildman Gets Canceled Four Days Before The End Of Its Kickstarter

Wildman
And it’s gameover everyone. Chris Taylor has canceled the Kickstarter campaign of Wildman, only four days before its end. To be honest, this Kickstarter would not hit its $1.1 million goal as it has only raised $504K so far. According to the last update of Wildman, at this point, it makes sense for them to focus their attention on other ways to keep Gas Powered Games running. And since the Kickstarter has not met its goal, they felt that they should cancel it instead of witnessing its failure. Unfortunately, Gas Powered Games is unable to share any specifics in public about its current plans, though things are not looking good for them. We’ve included below one of the game’s videos to see what you’ll be missing! Continue reading Wildman Gets Canceled Four Days Before The End Of Its Kickstarter

New Tech Demos Released For Square Enix’s Luminous Engine

Agnis Philosophy
4Gamer.net has released some new tech demos from the amazing Luminous Engine. These new videos showcase some of the engine’s capabilities (like its particles system). The most impressive stuff (and perhaps the most boring for some) is the video with the bottle that shows off the refraction and reflection system that Square Enix’s engine supports. Okay, and the fireflies video is impressive and more interesting, so make sure to watch that first. Enjoy! Continue reading New Tech Demos Released For Square Enix’s Luminous Engine

This is what a remastered HD version of Doom could look like

Doom
One of the reasons I love Doom 64 is because id Software decided to create new sprites for every monster and new textures for its environments. The end result was gorgeous back then and – to be honest – I’d love to see a remastered HD version of Doom. You know, 2D sprites that are wonderfully designed in HD. And since this is not going to happen anytime soon, I can at least satisfy my need for some Doom ‘OldSchool’ HD with this video. YouTube’s member ‘TJ Townsend’ has recreated a scene from Doom. The final image spans across 7 PSD files at a resolution of 9600×7211 pixels, and this project took him 35 hours to complete over the course of 8 days. It looks spectacular, so go ahead and take a look! Continue reading This is what a remastered HD version of Doom could look like

Slender: The Arrival Gets Some New Gameplay Footage

Slender The Arrival
YouTube’s ‘Spenser Wilson’ has uploaded a new video, showcasing the new Slenderman game that is currently under development, Slender: The Arrival. The game is being developed by Blue Isle Studios, is powered by the Unity Engine and is currently in beta phase. Naturally, players will have to collect all eight pages while at the same time avoid getting caught by the Slenderman. It looks cool, immersive and scary, though it may get repetitive too quickly. Let’s hope that Blue Isle Studios will be able to offer a nice variation between the levels, especially since this won’t be a freeware title like its predecessor. Slender: The Arrival is also said to feature a storyline, so it will be interesting to see what the devs have been up to all this time. Enjoy!
