And the SimCity fiasco keeps going on and on. A couple of days ago, Maxis’ studio head, Lucy Bradshaw, said that an offline mode for SimCity was not possible at the moment and that it would take a significant amount of engineering work from our team to rewrite the game for single player. That was a bunch of crap, and that’s why we did not inform you about this. And it seems we were right, as a Maxis insider told RPS that SimCity can run in offline mode and that a patch wouldn’t take very much engineering. Bohemia must feel really great with ArmA 3’s success. Despite the fact that the game is still in alpha stage, ArmA 3’s users are already more than those of all previous ArmA games combined. This further shows that there is a market for hardcore sim titles. That, or most of those guys purchased this new ArmA game in order to be ready for a possible DayZ mod. Either way, we are sure that Bohemia enjoys ArmA 3’s early success, so it will be interesting to see whether the final game will meet commercial success or not. Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 has been released and YouTube’s member ‘xKyleNxCoD’ has posted a video from the PC version, running at 1080p with max settings. We’ll post our Performance Analysis in the coming days, so stay tuned everyone for more. Now here is something really cool. YouTube’s ‘falcont2tjockey’ has recreated Bethesda’s Skyrim in Age of Empires 2. Well okay, this is a parody but still, it’s Skyrim in Age of Empires 2. And you know what? We’d actually love to play it. Honestly. It’s cool, it’s funny, it’s well made, and it shows why we all love mods. Developer Overkill has revealed today that a sequel to its PAYDAY game will be released this Summer on PC, PSN and XBLA. The game will support 4-player co-op and will come with the ability to customize weapons and characters, multistage jobs, and dynamic scenarios.
