Modder ‘Halk Hogan’ announced that The Witcher 3 HD Reworked Project 12.0 Ultimate will release on September 19th. In order to celebrate this announcement, the modder has also released a new comparison video that you can find below.
The Witcher 3 HD Reworked Project features very high quality textures with great sharpness and performance. Additionally, this mod does not increase the VRAM requirements. Thus, if you’re already running the game on Max settings, you will be able to use this mod. Furthermore, this project features very high quality accurate normal maps, and a lot of them are baked from high poly meshes. Not only that, but The Witcher 3 HD Reworked Project comes with high-quality meshes, and better objects LODs.
You can find the previous comparison videos for this stunning graphics mod here, here, here and here.
As I’ve already claimed, The Witcher 3 HD Reworked Project 12.0 Ultimate is one of the best graphics mods for CD Projekt RED’s RPG. Thus, I strongly suggest downloading it once it becomes available. If you can’t wait until then, you can go ahead and download its previous version.
Enjoy and stay tuned for more!

Oof when I get a new graphics card it might be time for a replay.
One guy puts the whole AAA studio to shame 🙂 LMAO
The guy only remade a certain number of textures, the whole studio made the whole game, not to mention time constraints and people with weak hardware in mind, don’t get me wrong he’s doing a fantastic job but i think even him may refuse to think that he put CDP to shame
CDP could easily make an HD patch, they probably still have raw HD textures and better models but they are to lazy to do this and simply they don’t care about PC platform or even CDP legacy games. You know there are graphic settings in PC game so that argument about low end hardware is just an excuse for lazy job.
They go where the money is, according to most surveys the average rig is far from being a high-end beast, the game looks very good even with the downgraded visuals, the fact that it’s moddable and we have the option to use better textures is already appreciable, most AAA games dont let you go this far modding them.
“they don’t care about PC platform or even CDP legacy games”
All their games received enhanced editions as free upgrades, are DRM free, and TW2 & 3 had excellent PC versions with PC exclusive features, even CP2077 is going to use PC specific techs like RT, i don’t know what you’re talking about
“but they are to lazy to do this”
You’re asking for something that no one does, just name me one dev that released higher quality assets post-launch that actually make a difference with the vanilla ones, all the HD addons i saw dont make any difference with vanilla unless you go nitpicking with a telescope
Where is RedKit for W3 ?
Where is HDR support in W3 for PC ? It is on consoles.
Why PC version is just a port from PS4 ?
Why CDPR are refusing to make a simple remaster of the first game ?
There are tons of games with free GFX update sometimes small sometimes big. CDPR gave nothing.
You fu@cking fanboys are the reason why laziness is accepted. If one guy can make this game look 10x better then a AAA studio can do this as well.
– I agree for RedKit, but mod support is here anyway
– HDR Monitors are not a thing in PC gaming, and consoles are more in need for HDR than PCs
– What a joke, this is absolutely not a PS4 port, the game is ported from PC to consoles, what the hell you’re talking about ??
– Because it’s running without any issue on modern hardware, why bother remastering it ? Most people here are always complaining about “simple” remasters but here we are asking for it nonetheless…
– Name some of them pls
I’m not a CDP fanboy, i just respect good devs and i love TW series, dont need to be disrespectful or agressive, we’re just talking FFS, and no this game doesn’t look 10x better with this mod, it just make “some” textures look better, just try it and you’ll know
HDR is just as important on PC now as it is on consoles.
Just because all gamers don’t have hdr monitors is not a good reason to not add HDR support.
I have HDR monitor and i love how it looks in Far Cry 5 or even Destiny 2.
About that PS4 port. The Witcher 2 was a PC game, this one is not and you can tell just by the controls and the graphic downgrade. I thing there was a PC focus build with that amazing graphic back in 2013-14 and you can see it in the gameplay trailers. What we have now is a console port with minimal improvements.
The first Wicher to this day runs like crap in Chapter 3 and lets be honest that game need some remaster love.
Sorry about that fanboy thing. I love this series as well especially the first game but what they did with the 3rd game in PC port aspect is just disappointing.
We have GFX updates for Skyrim, Shadow of Mordor, Half-life 2, Darksiders, Dark Souls 2, I thing ubisoft did HD texture pack for Rainbow Six as well.
It has a console interface and controls, that doesn’t mean it’s a console port, it’s more a console focused game developed on PC then ported to consoles.
As for TW1, i personally i hope for a remake, a classic remaster won’t add anything to the game anyway, and i think it’s enjoyable as it is, if there’s not additional value, better keep the original which you can get easily, and has no major technical issues.
As for HDR ok i can understand the criticism, when you have a feature on your hardware you obviously want to use it, especially when consoles can, i just think that doesn’t make them bad, when i said that it’s not a thing, i didn’t mean the importance of HDR as technology but the fact that are very few people asking for it on PC, that’s maybe why they didn’t bother.
– The HD upgrade for Skyrim isn’t even good as you always need to mod it to make it decent visually, so back to the beginning, TW3 vanilla Textures are better than the HD Texture of TESV anyway
– Shadow of Mordor and Ubisoft games have Ultra textures Addons that barely make a difference with vanilla, the differences are REALLY subtle, you only lose disk space and bandwidth, if you have one of these games try them and you’ll see, sometimes they’re not even properly compressed.
– HL2 Update is a mod
– Darksiders wasn’t upgraded, it was remastered years after release
– Dark Souls 2 SOTFS is more a gameplay and content overhaul rather then a graphical one, it just add a DX11 renderer, the game itself has been severely downgraded, at least TW3 had at worse decent graphics, DS2 looked and still looks really horrible compared to the trailers.
If you looked closer this mod is close to useless except if you want to get some close-up macro shots for whatever reason. I personally can’t see any difference in actual gameplay moments.
All the work put into this and I feel bad but all I could think of looked at the slides was: ‘I just don’t see any difference.’
My god even morons look smart next to you.
They are definitely an improvement. Nice job, hope he gets hired somewhere if that’s his end game.
You don’t get hired in the games industry for doing a monkey’s job running someone’s assets through someone’s upscaler program.
LMAO
Next Step : Cyberpunk 2077 HD Reworked Project 1.0
I sure hope so! I’ve never played The Witcher III without this guy’s HD Reworked Project mod so whenever I’ve seen videos of the vanilla game or the console versions it shocks me to see how poor much of the game’s assets are.
Well done.
