During the Perfect World’s latest earnings conference call, chief financial officer Kelvin Lau revealed that Star Trek Online’s free-to-play version is slated for release at the end of this year. In addition, Kelvin believes that this free-to-play model will help the company as they will have a bigger potential in US market and also in China market.
As Kelvin told to investors:
“Cryptic is working on the free-to-play model for Star Trek Online. This is going to be launched by the end of this year.
So I think free-to-play model we have a bigger potential in US market and also in China market.”
