Shenmue 3 will be coming to Steam after its Epic Games Store release

Deep Silver has announced that Shenmue 3 will be coming to Steam after its Epic Games Store release. The publisher did not clarify when this Kickstarted game will come out on Valve’s distribution service, though we expect the Epic Store timed-exclusive deal to be between 6 to 12 months.

Shenmue III sees the eagerly anticipated continuation of the epic story-driven saga. Players will take control of Ryo Hazuki, a teenage martial artist, determined to unravel the mystery behind his father’s murder and to exact revenge on the killer.

The game is powered by Unreal Engine 4 and promises to let players explore a vibrant, colourful open world, meet intriguing characters and endeavour on a cinematic adventure which will take them further into enemy territory and deeper into the mystery of the Phoenix Mirror.

Yesterday, Deep Silver and Ys Net announced that the game would be coming first on the Epic Games Store. Not only that, but the publisher refused to offer refunds to its Kickstarter supporters who assumed that the game would release at launch on Steam.

Shenmue 3 will release on the Epic Games Store on November 19th.
