NVIDIA has released a brand new driver for its graphics cards. According to the release notes, the NVIDIA GeForce 596.49 WHQL driver offers optimal performance in Forza Horizon 6, Directive 8020, and Subnautica 2.
Since I’ve been testing Forza Horizon 6, I can say that this driver is a must for it. With the previous drivers, I was getting some weird stuttering issues when I was enabling Ray Tracing. I could replicate this issue multiple times. Although the game was stutter-free without Ray Tracing, there were numerous stutters the moment I enabled Ray Tracing. Thankfully, this has been fixed.
With the NVIDIA GeForce 596.49 WHQL driver, I could play Forza Horizon 6 without any stutters for over two hours. So, if you are planning to play this new Forza game, you’ll have to install this driver.
This driver also enhances smoothness when DLSS Frame Generation is used with V-SYNC. So, if you’ve been using Frame Gen, you may want to upgrade your driver so that it feels smoother.
And, well, that’s it. This driver does not pack any other game fixes. As such, you can safely skip it if you’re not planning to play Forza Horizon 6. For what it’s worth, I haven’t experienced any stability issues with it.
Anyway, those interested can go ahead and download it from this link. Below, you can also find its full changelog.
