It appears that the first screenshot for the next main Assassin’s Creed game, Assassin’s Creed Hexe, has been leaked online. This screenshot comes from insider xj0nathan, who also shared some new details about it.
From what we know so far, Assassin’s Creed Hexe will be a dark-themed mainline entry in the Assassin’s Creed franchise. The game is reportedly set during the 16th-century Holy Roman Empire’s witch trials. Assassin’s Creed Hexe will be a more linear, less fantastical experience than recent RPGs, focusing on thematic witchcraft and a female protagonist, Anika.
According to xj0nathan, Ezio will most likely appear in Assassin’s Creed Hexe via memory discs or Isu technology. He won’t be physically present in the game. Moreover, an assassin called Wolfgang will appear, who will be your older mentor.
Wolfgang will be morally grey and controversial. In other words, he will be the โbad copโ in the game, whereas Ezio will be the โgood copโ. Wolfgang will appear early in the story to mentor Anika, while Ezio will be showing up much later in the game.
The original image that xj0nathan shared was this one (its exposure, brightness, and contrast have been adjusted as the original was dark and you couldn’t see anything at all). I’ve also included below an AI-upscaled version of it. This should give you a better idea of it.
There is currently no ETA for when Assassin’s Creed Hexe will come out. According to rumors, we might see it in 2027.
Anyway, there is nothing more to share at this point. As with all rumors, I suggest taking what you read with a grain of salt. xj0nathan is a reliable leaker. However, things may change until Ubisoft officially reveals it.
Stay tuned for more!
