MachineGames may have teased Quake 6

It appears that MachineGames may have teased a new Quake game, codenamed Quake 6, at Microsoft’s Developer Direct 2024 event. This also falls in line with the rumors we’ve heard about a new Quake game being developed by MachineGames.

As you can see below, MachineGames has written Quake 6 on its billboard. Now while we can’t see the letters “Q” and “U”, we can easily see the Quake logo below them. So yes, this appears to be a teaser for Quake 6.

Sadly, we don’t have anything more to add to this story. You can see for yourselves the whiteboard in the video at the end of the article. Just head at the 11:34 mark.

So, what would you like to see in a new Quake game? Personally, I’d love to see a polished single-player campaign. After all, we already have a “modern” multiplayer game in the form of Quake Champions. So, a high-quality Quake reboot, similar to what we saw with Doom 2016 would be great.

I’m also a bit conflicted about whether this reboot should be closer to the first Quake game, or follow the Strogg story from Quake 2. I love both Q1 and Q2, so it’s a bit difficult to choose between them. If I had to guess, I’d say that MachineGames would play it safe and remake the Strogg storyline. And that would kind of suck as the first Quake had a lot of potential and atmosphere.

Speaking of Quake, I highly recommend downloading the Path Tracing Mod for it. You can also download the Slave Zero X-Inspired Mod we shared yesterday. As for Q2, I highly recommend getting the RTX version that NVIDIA released in 2019.

As always, we’ll be sure to keep you posted. So, stay tuned for more.
