Microsoft and The Coalition have shared the final PC system requirements for Gears of War: E-Day. This new GoW game uses Unreal Engine 5, and it will come out on October 6. So, let’s take a look at them.
To run it, PC gamers will at least need an AMD Ryzen 5 2600X or an Intel Core i7‑6850K/i5‑10400 with 12GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050, an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060, an AMD Radeon RX 6600, an AMD Radeon RX 9060, or an Intel A580. The game will also require 115GB of free disk space. With this PC setup, you will be able to run it at 1080p/60 FPS on Medium Settings with an upscaler.
For gaming at 1440p/60 FPS on High Settings with an upscaler, you will need an AMD Ryzen 5 5600 or an Intel Core i5-11600K with 16GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060, an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060Ti, an AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT, an AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT, or an Intel B580.
Finally, for 4K/60 FPS on Ultra Settings with an upscaler, you will need an Intel Core i5-14700K or an AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D with 16GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070Ti or an AMD Radeon RX 7900XT.
Gears of War: E-Day will be one of the first games to use Unreal Engine 5’s MegaLights. Thanks to MegaLights, the game will have hundreds of lights that can cast shadows. Moreover, the PC version will support Hardware Ray Tracing for Reflections, Shadows, and Global Illumination. There will also be support for NVIDIA DLSS 4.5, AMD FSR 4, and Intel XeSS 3.0t.
In August, Microsoft held an Open Beta Testing phase for Gears of War: E-Day. As such, we have some early performance figures for it. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 ran the beta with 40-50FPS at 4K/Ultra with, most likely, DLSS 4.5 Quality Mode. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070Ti ran it at 40 FPS at 4K/Ludicrous Settings with DLSS 4 Ultra Performance Mode. On the other hand, the NVIDIA RTX 5090 ran the beta at over 60FPS at 4K/Ultrawith DLSS 4.5 Quality.
