Edge of Memories feature

Edge of Memories Releases on November 5, Gets Official PC Requirements

NACON has announced that Edge of Memories will be released on November 5th. To celebrate this announcement, the publisher shared a new trailer, as well as the game’s official PC system requirements.

Edge of Memories is a new action RPG inspired by classic JRPGs. Its art style mixes French animation with Japanese anime. The story was written with Sawako Natori and explores themes such as leaving your home, living through a plague, finding your roots, and adapting to a changing world.

The game takes place on the continent of Avaris. A deadly plague called the Corrosion has turned humans and wildlife into horrible creatures. Players take control of Eline, a young Soul Whisperer who travels across the land. She uses her special powers to heal people who have been affected by the plague.

Built with Unreal Engine 5, Edge of Memories will feature a bright and colorful world. Players will explore this world while uncovering Eline’s story and learning more about the Corrosion.

The game also features fast-paced combat that takes place in real time. Players will need to master Eline’s skills and chain attacks with her two companions. They can also unleash the powerful Berserk ability hidden inside Eline.

Now, there are a couple of yellow flags here. The first is that this is an Unreal Engine 5 game from a small studio. So, it will either have technical issues (traversal stutters) or it will be visually underwhelming. The second is that Midgar Studio closed its doors in July. Thus, I’m not certain about the game’s post-launch support. We might get a few patches, but I wouldn’t expect major support.

To run Edge of Memories, PC gamers will at least need an Intel Core i7-8700K or AMD Ryzen 5 1600X with 16GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060, an AMD Radeon RX 590, or an Intel Arc A580. The game will also require 22GB of free disk space.

NACON recommends using an Intel Core i5-12600K or AMD Ryzen 5 7600 with 16GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070, an AMD Radeon RX 6750 XT, or an Intel Arc B580.

Enjoy the trailer!
