Remember Fallout: Nuevo Mexico? Well, if you were looking forward to it, we have some bad news for you. A few days ago, its creator announced its cancellation. As such, this new DLC-sized mod will now never see the light of day.
Fallout: Nuevo Mexico would have taken place in the year 2255. In this fan expansion, players would assume the role of a new prisoner who arrives at Tibbet’s Prison.
Players would be able to join several new factions in the game. The mod would include three special companions, and there would be a new companion system that changed how you build relationships with them. Plus, there would be lots of new activities to try out, and you’d get to explore different states and locations.
The reason behind the cancellation of Fallout: Nuevo Mexico remains a mystery. According to reports, it was due to mental issues. Others claim that the modder encountered issues with the law forces. Whatever the reason, one thing is for certain. Fallout: Neuvo Mexico has been canceled, and it’s no longer in development. And that’s kind of a bummer. At least for those who want new free content for FNV.
We first reported on Fallout: Nuevo Mexico in February 2022. So, after three whole years, the modder decided to pull the plug. My guess is that the mod was nowhere close to completion. And that’s the biggest issue a lot of DLC-sized mods face. While they may sound cool on paper, it may be quite difficult to actually develop them.
Anyway, if you are into Fallout: New Vegas, you can also try these other mods for it. For instance, this mod adds real-time reflections. Another one changes over 1,000 functions to make the game run smoother. Oh, and there’s a mod that reduces landscape texture seams. Plus, there’s a mod to make the game’s characters even smarter. Another must-have mod is this one which improves collision accuracy, and fixes/optimizes meshes.
In June 2024, we shared a mod that brought to the game some STALKER-like anomalies. Moreover, you can get this mod that adds physically-based vehicles to the game. And if you love quests, there’s a mod that gives you an endless supply of new ones. Let’s also not forget Visuals Improved Content Expanded Mod. This mod fills the surroundings of Vegas to make it feel more like a real city.
There are also some cool fan-made expansions for New Vegas. Four of them are being made as we speak. These are Fallout: Broken City, Fallout Van buren Remake, Fallout: Nuevo Mexico and Star Wars Open Worlds. On the other hand, we have these DLC-sized mods that you can grab and play right now. These fan expansion mods are Fallout New California, Fallout: Free Cheyenne Demo, Fallout New Vegas: Out of Bounds, Fallout The Frontier and Retribution 2. So, make sure to download them.
Stay tuned for more!

I’ve seen it and it appears fake (imagine having cops outside but still calmly writing on your Discord channel).
I've done it.
yeah me too, some are suicidal or dgaf anymore. hence mental issues in the article. lol. aren´t we all nutjobs. i aint afraid of cops but i also aint gonna attack em. i just accept my fate when i fcked up thats all that was. no hate attached to anything. lol. not to mention who gets dindu aggressive when all they do is bust you for a bit of weed anyway knowing you get out the next day. the mod creator probably had some form of breakdown, where weve all been. maybe he cancelled it now and comes back to it one day or the most simple answer, he didnt get far, overdone it, real life became more important, some nerds suddenly do a 180 like me and start lifting and looking for love rather than stay home and constantly work on something. thats life – frank sinatra

HAHAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAH LMAO.
What does that say about people though? They were making this because they are mexicans. Westerners should make stuff too.
Westerners have no talent.
They're locked in their rooms j*cking off to lolies and playing vibiogames 24/7 while indians and chinese build the future of AI and tech.
indians are an absolute noting and all they are doing is bring in their people in with h1b visas and give them jobs like dog walker and cashier, its pathetic southern nepotism.
If this was Japan or any other country people have no problems with being kicked out when you are not citizens. But for some reason when it's USA everyone loses their minds.
I just scrolled through that nut's eX-Twitter profile. Can't find the posts screenshotted by Pirat_Nation, but the dude who runs that eX-Twitter account seems to be trolling pretty hard. Either that or he's nuts.
Why not give out whatever code you had to other modders? 🤷🏻♂️
Maybe renaming it to "New America"? :/
that's a big bummer … I was looking forward to re-installing NV for this mod,
why not hand it over to other modders?
