Custom DualShock4 Drivers Bring Touchpad Support To The PC

PS4 DualShock 4

Now this is bloody amazing. PCSX2’s member ‘InhexSTER’ has been working on some custom drivers in order to bring all functionality of PS4’s DS4 controller to the PC. In case you were not aware of, DS4 is currently recognized as a simple gamepad on the PC. Thanks to InhexSTER’s custom drivers, though, PC gamers can now take advantage of DS4’s touchpad. Glorious.

Before continuing, let us tell you that these drivers are in beta phase, meaning that there will be minor bugs with a number of games. Okay? We got that out of the way? Let’s move on now.

As InhexSTER claimed, his latest beta version of his DS4 drivers come with the following key features:

Touchpad support:
-Sensitivity slider in options
-L1+R2+Touchpad press – enables touchpad
-L1+Touchpad press – disables touchpad
-L1 and R1 act as mouse buttons (while touchpad is enabled)

Battery indication:
-Use LED as battery indicator checkbox (green to red)
-Flash LED below 20% battery checkbox

InhexSTER aims to enchanced touchpad support in a future version of his drivers, and map the battery LED indication to a hotkey.
