Vigor new feature

Bohemia’s console exclusive, Vigor, is coming soon to PC

Vigor is a free-to-play online survival shooter that initially came out on Xbox One, and was then ported to Nintendo Switch and PlayStation. However, and although Bohemia is a pro-PC developer, this F2P shooter never found its way on PC. Well, that’s about to change as the devs have officially revealed that the game will soon come out on Steam Early Access.

Bohemia claims that Vigor was created as a console shooter. As such, adapting it for PC presents significant challenges. That’s why, the team will release the game on Steam Early Access. The Early Access period will last around three months.

Do note that the Early Access won’t be free. To participate in it, you’ll have to purchase the Vigor – Reinforcements Pack. Once the game leaves its Early Access phase, though, it will be completely free to everyone.

In the Early Access version, players will have access to three game modes: Encounter, Shootout, and Elimination. And, since this will be a F2P title, it will rely heavily on paid DLCs and cosmetic micro-transactions.

Bohemia has also shared the game’s PC system requirements. PC gamers will at least need an Intel Core i7-3770K with 8GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680. The team recommends using an Intel Core i7-8700K with 16GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060.

So, the good news is that Vigor will run on a wide range of PC configurations. The bad news is that it won’t look as good as most modern-day triple-A titles. From what I’ve read, the team also does not plan to overhaul the game’s graphics.

Finally, Bohemia will launch Vigor on Steam Early Access in May 2023. I also expect the team to share a new trailer in a couple of hours. If it does, I’ll be sure to update the story with it. Until then, you can find below its console launch trailer!
