Cities Skylines 2 feature-3

Cities Skylines 2 just got an NVIDIA DLSS 2 Mod

Cities Skylines 2 fans, here is something for you today. Modder ‘CaptainOfCoit’ released a mod that adds support for NVIDIA DLSS 2 in it. However, you should keep in mind that this mod is still in its early stages. Nevertheless, it can already improve the performance of this city builder.

According to the modder, there are currently a bunch of graphical artifacts with this mod. That’s because DLSS 2 has not been properly implemented yet. My guess is that future versions will be better than this. As said, though, the game can already run better with this mod. So, if you desperately want to improve performance, you can at least give it a go.

Although CaptainOfCoit has not shared the GPU he used, he did get a 53% performance boost. And, since City Skylines 2 is a GPU-bound title, we are certain that it will significantly benefit from DLSS 2. So, until Colossal Order adds support for it, you can use this mod.

If you are interested in it, you can go ahead and download it from this link.

Sadly, the modder didn’t share any videos comparing the native resolutions and DLSS 2. I’ve also uninstalled the game from my system, so I can’t give it a spin on my NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090. Maybe I’ll reinstall it later when the mod gets more stable to benchmark it.

Speaking of DLSS Mods, I also suggest taking a look at these for some other games. PC gamers can download DLSS 3 Mods for games like Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Lies of P and Baldur’s Gate 3. PureDark is also working on a DLSS 3 Frame Generation for Grand Theft Auto 5.

Stay tuned for more!
