Imagine stating back in the Q3 days that arena shooters wouldn’t be around in a couple of years. Everyone will call you mad and crazy. And here we are today without any triple-A arena shooter capable of rivaling Q3 or UT2004. Man, I really miss arena shooters. Good news then that YouTube’s member ‘Djordje Simonovic’ has uploaded a great frag movie for Xonotic. Xonotic is a free (GPL), fast-paced first-person shooter that works on Windows, OS X and Linux. The project is geared towards providing addictive arena shooter gameplay which is all spawned and driven by the community itself, and is powered by the Darkplaces engine. Enjoy! It’s a slow day today, therefore we decided to share with you a couple of videos that put Codemasters’ F1 2012 against Slightly Mad Studios’ Project CARS. Keep in mind that F1 2012 is a completed product, whereas Project CARS is in alpha phase and is not concentrated on F1 cars. That’s why the sound is not as good as we’d hoped in pCars, as they could very well be mere placeholders. We’re not going to take a side on this one, so enjoy them and tell us which one looks better! Ah, Mafia. Such an amazing game. It’s sad that its sequel was not as good as we’d hoped to. In fact, Mafia 2 was one of the first games that had a really, really horrible ending. Our guess is that the develepoment team wanted to push some SP DLC stories after the game’s release in order to keep gamers interested in it (and milk their game for as long as they could). It didn’t work out for them though. But anyway, back to Mafia. Our reader ‘Jonathan Gustafsson’ has captured some footage from a mod that converts Mafia 1 to the RAGE Engine. Halo fans, get ready for a treat. Yes, Halo is a console game but it was once considered a PC exclusive title, until MS got its hands on it. It comes as no surprise that the first game is considered – well, at least here in DSOG – the best part of the series with a memorable music and some amazing sequences. Let’s also not forget the ground-breaking E3 2000 demo and all those live-action films that have been produced these couple of years. Machinima has just posted the first part of the Halo 4: Froward Unto Dawn live-action web series, so waste no time and go ahead and watch it after the jump.
