Battlefield 3 – This is how flashlight will look like after the upcoming update

One of the most annoying things in Battlefield 3 is definitely the flashlight effect, an annoying and unrealistic effect that DICE has added. After a lot of complains, the company has promised to tweak it and today, the Core Gameplay Designer on Battlefield 3, Alan Kertz, released a comparison between the default flashlight the tweaked one that will be featured on the upcoming update of Battlefield 3. The default flashlight is on the left, whereas the tweaked one is on the right. No release date has been announced for Battlefield 3’s next patch, so stay tuned for more. Enjoy! Tobii EyeAsteroids is the world’s first Eye-Controlled Arcade Game

Tobii Technology released a new video for their upcoming arcade game, Tobii EyeAsteroids. Tobii EyeAsteroids is the world’s first eye-controlled arcade game expanding the application of eye tracking into the consumer electronics and gaming industries. It looks interesting and although we’ve been experimenting with the OCZ Neural Impulse Actuator for quite some time, Tobii EyeAsteroids doesn’t need any additional headset to work. It looks a lot of fun, so make sure to check it out! Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon is coming to the PC

D3Publisher announced that a PC version of their bug-fest third person action game, Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon, will be released this holiday season. Naturally, this delayed PC version will include all of the downloadable content that was previously released for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions. Warner Bros Officially Confirm Batman: Arkham City’s PC Release Date

A few days ago, we informed you about the delay of Batman: Arkham City’s PC version in the US. Moreover, we got word yesterday that the European release would also be delayed. That was according to Steam’s schedule but there was a minor hope that Steam could be wrong. Unfortunately, Warner Bros and DC Entertainment have officially confirmed today that the game will be indeed delayed. The game is currently slated for a November 25th worldwide release. DC Universe: Online – Concurrent playerbase increased by 1000%

Now that’s impressive. A few days ago, DC Universe: Online switched to a free-to-play model and it managed to increase its playerbase with 120,000 new users in the 48 first hours. DC Universe: Online’s success kept on going and SOE’s CEO, John Smedley, tweeted that they are currently over 1000% of their pre-F2P concurrent numbers. Simply, WOW. A Valley Without Wind – New Details + Updated Demo

Arcen Games revealed some new information and details surrounding A Valley Without Wind, the game of infinite procedurally-generated 2D sidescrolling. The title has reached a sizable milestone, wrapping up series one of the beta patch releases. During the period the game saw 40 individual updates over 43 days, with 640 distinct changes made in all. Rochard is coming to the PC

Recoil Games announced that Rochard, its action-packed side-scrolling puzzle platformer, is set to debut on PC on November 15th. The game will be available for download through Steam, Valve’s digital distribution platform, for $9.99 for the US, £7.99 for the UK and 9.99€ for the rest of Europe. If Doom was done today

Rage3D’s user ‘Chubz’ created a Doom level to show how iD’s gem would look like if it was done today. This level is obviously inspired by kmoosmann’s “If Quake was done today” video and makes you play the way most first-person shooters today are played. So expect to see cutscenes that disrupt gameplay, regenerating health, linear level design, and much more. Chubz also promised to provide a download link tomorrow, so stay tuned for it. Bioware and EA send NeoGAF a Cease and Desist notice over Mass Effect 3 Spoilers

Earlier today, we found out that some internal story files for Mass Effect 3 have been leaked. Those who read those spoilers already know how Bioware’s upcoming action/RPG game ends, who lives and who dies. And although Jesse Houston stated at Bioware’s official forum that those story files contained information that was out of date, EA and Bioware sent a cease and desist notice to the well-known gaming forum, NeoGAF.
