S.T.A.L.K.E.R. was an amazing game that was plagued by a problematic game engine. Naturally, a lot of gamers wished to replay this game in a different engine and this might come true, as there are some teams that are already working on various STALKER mods for Crysis. One of them is called CryZone: Sector 23 and is the most well known. However, today we’ll concentrate on S.T.A.L.K.E.R. – Dead Zone. Although it’s Sunday, a lot of companies decided to go ahead and announce some fake projects in order to fool their fans. One of them was obviously Blizzard who made an April Fool’s announcement about a new Starcraft game for iOS devices and web browsers. What really shocked us though was the fact that Blizzard was mocking BioWare with the supposedly features of this new Starcraft game. As we told you yesterday, Team Meat were planning to announce a new Super Meat Boy. Well, the news came earlier than we have expected as the team announced that they’ll be porting their game to the iOS devices. Team Meat have been playing with the idea of porting SMB on the iphone for some time but could not get it working. Therefore, they decided to remake the game from the ground up, thus giving birth to Super Meat Boy: The Game. Continue reading Super Meat Boy comes to iOS with Super Meat Boy: The Game→

Lately, we’ve asking ourselves one simple question: what makes a great screenshot? Is it the insane amount of detail, the clever camera angles, the extensive use of post-process effects, how close it can get to actual photos or how lovely its artistic direction can actually be? It’s a really weird question and there is no definite answer to that. Take for example the work of jin.dot.gae1 and orangebrains. Their images are nowhere closer to real photos but they have something unique, something mesmerizing. On the other hand, j1731’s shots can’t be easily mistaken for real photos and that makes them unique in their own way. In the end, a great in-game screenshot is – in our opinion – the screenshot that will leave you speechless and will make you re-install and play that game. And the following shots made us do exactly that. Enjoy and special thanks to modders schakusa, 3lajitz, DenDi333, legacyy, King of K, Jaizeta, Black_D, Simple999 and ngt for capturing them! Although we have some interesting CryEngine 3 shots for all of you today, nothing can really come close to what modder ‘wenda’ has achieved. Wenda has released a video of his WIP map and we have to say that this is exactly how Skyrim would look like in CryEngine 3. The attention to detail is really amazing and although we’ve included an image from it, you really need to see it in motion. Alongside wenda’s work, we bring you some screenshots from the works of Cleric, RayFan9876, themodman101, [LSD]Timewarp82, birdeez and BmB. Enjoy! Super Meat Boy was one of the best – and most frustrating – platforms in recent years and we’ve waited patiently for a DLC, an expansion or even a sequel to it. You see, Super Meat Boy is something unique that you either love or hate. And we are happy to report that in the coming weeks, Team Meat will announce a new Super Meat Boy game. Great news for all RAGE and Skyrim fans, as Bethesda’s Pete Hines has revealed that some new things are coming down the road in April for both of these titles. In other words, this could mean a new patch for them and an announcement for a new DLC. Slightly Mad Studios have released the newest weekly build of their WMD-powered Project CARS title. Build 184 gives members with Team Member status and above the first chance to test drive the exciting 2011 BAC Mono on a brand new track. As always, the company has also released some impressive new shots to showcase the new car and track and I really feel the need to repeat myself; Slightly Mad Studios have introduced an amazing lighting system to their game.
