Well here I am, writing another story about how some in the press have misrepresented Shenmue III’s funding. Seems Yu Suzuki has been forced to address this issue, which arose from, hopefully, mistakes made in various reports about Shenmue III.

While E3 has typically been a spectacle its shine had seemed to fade. Over the past few years I’d argued that E3 contained few noteworthy announcements, even if one were to look at it through the lens and perspective of a console gamer — the demographic the convention has historically focused on.

Blizzard Bans 100,000 World of Warcraft accounts

Blizzard has apparently hit over 100,000 accounts with bans in a large bot purge. Accounts impacted were detected to be using gameplay automation methods. Valve is set to introduce a new set of restrictions on Steam accounts in an effort to reduce the occurrence of spam & phishing on their service. One of which includes making group chat exclusively for those of whom have spent at least $5 in the store.

Recently Microsoft announced Halo Online, an online multiplayer only F2P FPS. The closed beta was announced exclusively for the Russian marketplace however, so given we game on PC, one of the things that happens on PC, happened; mods. Chiefly mods that allowed gamers to bypass said Russian region lock.

Japanese Game Developer Swery65’s Xbox One title, D4 (which stands for Dark Dreams Don’t Die) may be getting the PC treatment down the line. At GDC D4 was demoed on PC with a mouse. After a fan asked Swery65 to bring it to Steam, the developer replied “Do you really want it?”
