NVIDIA officially collaborates with Microsoft for the DirectX Raytracing (DXR) API, first screenshots

As promised, NVIDIA today announced its collaboration with Microsoft for a brand new DirectX API that will allow real-time ray tracing. According to the teams, the DirectX Raytracing (DXR) API will enable straightforward access to real-time ray tracing running on development graphics hardware, and below you can find its first screenshot from Remedy’s Northlight Engine.

Crytek has released the GDC 2018 tech demo video for its first-person PvP bounty hunting game, Hunt: Showdown, showcasing the capabilities of CRYENGINE V. Some of the highlights of this video are the Vulkan Renderer, voxelization, the Global Illumination effects and the shadows that are cast by the sun.

Electronic Arts and Ghost Games have revealed the full release notes for Need for Speed Payback’s March update. This latest patch for EA’s racing game will be released tomorrow and according to its changelog, it will add Drift Zones, Speed Runs, Speed Traps and Jumps to AllDrive.

Epic Games has just announced that it is giving away all the assets of its cancelled third-person MOBA game, Paragon, for free to all developers. These assets are currently available for download in the Unreal Engine Marketplace, so be sure to download them right away.

HTC has just announced that its new Vive Pro headset will release next month, on April 5th. The HTC Vive Pro headset will be priced at $799, will support 2880×1600 resolution combined (1440 x 1600 resolution per eye) and will come with built-in headphones.
