    1. Should be out this fall 2016, will be showcased at Pre-E3 EA Play (not confirmed, but they would be stupid to not show then, or before).

      1. You probably wouldn’t even be able to tell the difference between 24/96 and 16/44 .wav, .flac and high quality .ogg and .mp3 files. Same as 99% of gamers.

Yet, 24/96 .wav file is nearly 15 times bigger than 320kbps .mp3 file.

          1. a totally useless difference. Battlefield 4 has some of the best video game audio and their whole game is less than the size of the audio for titanfall

          2. The difference is only in high frequencies (let’s forget about 16bit vs 24bit .wavs, that’s a whole new level and it’s not for gamers), and not every sound may have them. MP3 files have a low-pass filter on ~20Khz.

The thing is, human ear cannot hear anything above 20Khz, and after 25+ years (usually) cannot hear anything above 16Khz.

No, it’s not something like “human eye cannot see 60fps”, you can test it: /watch?v=h5l4Rt4Ol7M

        1. Isn’t mp3 128kbps? Which I would say is noticeably different to wav if you have a decent headset and amp/dac combination.

          1. mp3 can reach 320 kbps. which is more than enough for 99% of pc equipments and human hearing. As nines said, the older you get the less you’re capable of hearing sounds above and below certain frequencies, it’s just like that.

          2. You may improve your sound experience, but gadgets aren’t going to change your ears. I posted a link above. If you can’t hear at least 20 Khz (which equals ~40 Khz for digital files), which is still in range of a standard HQ mp3 file (44.1 Khz), then you aren’t going to hear anything above to tell the difference between .mp3 and .wav.

  1. First one was a total failure, let’s see this one. I still remember respawn talking about titanfall 2 only months after the first came out, that says it all…

    1. Such a failure that they decided to make a sequel and were talking about it just after the first one launced

  2. I hope the game is designed for a controller and to be played from a couch so I can have the most cinematic gaming experience possible! *shuder*

  3. There are 23 comments here, 21 of them are whining about EA, Titanfall 1 lack of content, DLC’s, audio size…

Can’t wait to play this. Occasionally still playing the first one, still a rush, and with the free DLC’s there are so many maps. I have high hopes for this game. 🙂
