  1. Dumb question, but still… I guess Today’s Highlighted Deals is not a Daily Deal thingy anymore (which was basically the best deal you could get on a particular game), which means the discounts that are already set (like the MGS V one) are not going to ever increase during the sale?..

    1. Correct. They have done away with that method. The discounts you see are going to the the highest discounts that game will ever get during the current sale so there’s no need to wait to see if it goes for a lower price later in the sale.

      1. Ah, ok. Thanks for clearing that up. Daily Deals were cool but when you know for sure that prices won’t get any lower than they already are it gets kinda easier to just pick the game up and not waste time waiting.

        1. It’s also a lot better for people who can’t be home every day, during Christmas. Becomes impossible to browse for deals in the old way.

  2. As Steam becomes more and more popular the sales % has gotten less and less every year. Games that used to be 75-85% off are now 50% off and games that used to be 90% off are now 66-75% off.

  3. Not sure if there’s much more to get after that recent Autumn sale. But I’ll have a look again.

My plan for tomorrow: Set all 300+ pages of sales to alphabetical order and just click through every single thing. Cup of tea and a podcast to keep me company. That’s my idea of a good time.

        1. Weird thing that happens every sale, my wishlist instead of going down, go up.
Or I end buy something that isn’t even there (especially if there’s something on my steam wallet, like trading cards money).
Or a game that isn’t even that good (just bought Chrome+Specforce bundle -.-).
Or even games that aren’t top priority on my backlog, but they are cheap anyway so why not just buy it?

          I hate myself.

          1. It’s just the sale is sheetty, but yeah, that’s usually how it happens. Although I bought Tales from the Borderlands and The Fall so it’s -2 from my wishlist. Sort of want to buy Transistor, but I know it will be in a bundle soon enough, and because of that I’m almost done with buying indies on Steam. Also, Underrail will keep me busy.

Chrome is a good game, but may be dated at this point. It was one of the first shooters with open levels (this and Venom).

          2. Almost all of my wishlist is discounted, and some good discounts too.
But I have to control myself and don’t buy anything, there’s games from the very first sale since I’ve made the Steam account that I still didn’t get to download/play. -.-
