Square Enix Confirms Final Fantasy Type-0 Coming To The PC

Square Enix has just confirmed – via Final Fantasy’s Twitter account – that Final Fantasy Type-0 HD will be indeed coming to the PC. Like all other Final Fantasy games, Type-0 HD will be released on Steam. Square Enix did not reveal any addition information about the PC version (other than it will feature new graphical options and improved battle & camera controls).

Since Type-0 HD is indeed coming to the PC, we believe it is safe to say that Final Fantasy XV will also be brought to the PC. In fact, and since Square Enix has been experimenting with DX12, we are pretty sure that FF XV’s PC version will support this new API.

While the publisher will be hosting an E3 conference, we believe that such an announcement won’t be happening during this upcoming event.

Our guess is that Square Enix will reveal FF XV’s PC version at this year’s Gamescom. That, or it will wait until its console version is out (though this seems unlikely given the fact that FFXV won’t be coming anytime soon).

Square Enix also plans to release an update version of Final Fantasy XV’s demo, so here is hoping that the publisher will surprise everyone and also bring it to the PC. Now that would be glorious.

Final Fantasy XV: Episode Duscae 2.0 will be coming this June on current-gen consoles.

Stay tuned for more!

  1. Now Square Enix are starting to make some really smart moves… Couple Type-0, Lightning Returns (whenever they decide to finally release that) and the slew of games coming out of their Western studios and a good year is almost guaranteed for them.

It’s great that they officially confirmed it.

    1. Not sure what is smart. Smart is probably to make one sequel after another, though I’d love to see some new original series coming. Great they will use DX12, would be even greater if they would not use GameWorks with it x)

      1. Just branching out to the PC as a core platform will end up being a wise move in the long-term. Financially it would continue making sense (as you say DX12 API is being actively worked on and by now the internal SquareEnix dev teams are veterans of DX9-DX11 APIs as well).

          1. blah blah f-u-c-k-e-r, i wont be excited 4 final fantasy type 0, only star citizen or xcom 2

    1. Dice is a studio, square enix is a publisher house.
So your comment should be: Ea is better than Square enix.
Both of those publishers are pretty well in optimizing on PC platform (both mostly in Game evolved program), both have better and worse studios.
So I am not sure what is your comment based on. There are no stupid comments, regardless how often i call them that, though this comment is definitely not correct in comparison.

  2. Isn’t Type-0 HD one of those “HD remasters” from a PSP game?
Still, it is definitely welcome: the more Final Fantasy games are released on the PC, the better! Fingers crossed for a back-catalog release in the future, it would be great to be able to play FFX on the PC, and we can always dream XII is re-released one day, right? 😉

  3. That’s nice. As much as i love FFXV to be coming to PC, i don’t think they’ll announce it anytime soon not unless the consoles version are out and the sales are dried. Sadly but that’s the way it is :/

  4. I remember when on RPG games the main character has the profile of tought man, despite the sprites were childish, the art was about a strong character, but now this doesnt look like a game, looks like a korean dorama or a korean pop music group.
