Gearbox Wants To Start Working On The Next Borderlands Game, Not Yet Under Development

During these past few days, there have been various reports surrounding the third part of Borderlands. On Saturday, Gearbox’s CEO Randy Pitchford claimed that the company would have a surprise during its Sunday panel. Right now, the panel is under way and according to reports, the third part of Borderlands is not currently under development.

Right now, Gearbox is looking to add people to the team in order to make the next Borderlands game.

The funny thing here is that Randy Pitchford said today that there is literally nothing to tell about the next Borderlands game, other than that the company really wants to start working on it.

As Randy Pitchford specifically said:

“We need people to help us make the next Borderlands game. The next big one.”

If you are interested in the next Borderlands, be sure to visit the game’s official website and look at their jobs.

And that is that. No Borderlands 3 news guys, so don’t expect it to come out anytime soon!

  1. The “surprise” was revealed yesterday as a F2P China-exclusive Borderlands game. I want to see Gearbox make a Duke Nukem game, Pitchford said they didn’t acquire the IP just to release DNF.

    1. they had a duke nukem begins game in development when they bought dnf/ duke rights, but i guess it flopped so hard they cancelled it and have no plans for duke atm like most hardcore duke fans predicted.

      1. Duke Begins was just Take Two’s attempt at getting a Duke game out the door because they knew 3D Realms would never finish DNF. They tasked it to Gearbox because numerous former 3D Realms employees (including Randy Pitchford) worked there.

I remember watching an interview with Pitchford and he said the game was going to have a robot sidekick and the relationship between it and Duke would evolve over the course of the story…which sounds pretty stupid to me.

  2. Personally I can’t get enough of the borderlands universe and hearing that the next borderlands isn’t even under development makes me a little sad, I’ll probably have to wait till 2017 for more borderlands :X
