Kyn – Viking-inspired Strategy Game – & New Afro Samurai Game Announced

Versus Evil announced today that a new Afro Samurai game, as well as a new Viking-inspired strategy game, are currently being developed. And while the Afro Samurai game will be coming on PC, current-gen and old-gen consoles, Kyn – the aforementioned strategy game – will be releasing exclusively on PC, Mac and Linux.

Afro Samurai is described as a third-person action-adventure game that will pack an original storyline with new characters, and improved special moves and combos.

Steve Escalante, general manager of Versus Evil, said:

“Working with independent studios is truly rewarding and we couldn’t be happier to add Redacted Studios and Tangrin to a growing list of top indie studios. Afro Samurai and Kyn are two excellent and promising titles that we are privileged to be publishing. The talent present within these studios is simply amazing and we are really excited to work with them to bring these games to the market.”

There is no ETA yet for both of these titles. Hopefully, Versus Evil will share additional information about both of them in the near future.

Enjoy!

        1. All the better for people like me providing the games are actually good.

I hope the Afro Samurai game is 1) good (I actually heard the previous one wasn’t that great) 2) has as much of the original voiceover cast as possible especially Samuel L. Jackson. 3) keep it M rated. 🙂

  1. Polygon had this to say about Afro Samurai:

“The first game was developed by Namco Bandai Games for the PlayStation 3
and Xbox 360. Former Namco Bandai senior producer David Robinson left
the company two years ago to form Redacted Studios. Robinson had worked
on the first Afro Samurai title and, when he left the studio, he
took with him the rights to make other games in the series. Redacted
Studios has a core team of 17 developers who are currently working on
    the sequel.”

This really hypes me up. At first I thought it would be a small download-only type of game, but seeing that this is the next entry, that might not be the case.
