Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake Pre-Alpha March 2024 Presentation Leaked Online

It appears that the pre-alpha March 2024 presentation for Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake has been leaked online. An hour ago, someone on YouTube leaked the entire presentation. At first, I was hesitant to share it as I wasn’t sure whether it was legit. But then, Ubisoft went ahead and took it down, which basically confirms that this is the real thing.

Now, while I couldn’t find a mirror, X’s Prince of Persia Universe was able to put together some of what was shown during the presentation. So, below you can find some in-game screenshots, as well as some concept art.

For those who did not know, in September 2020, Ubisoft officially announced the remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. However, its first screenshots left all Prince of Persia fans disappointed. The game did not look good. As a result, Ubisoft decided to delay the game until March 18th, 2021.

Things went downhill in 2021. In February 2021, Ubisoft announced that the game was delayed indefinitely. But then, in June 2021, Ubisoft stated that the remake was targeting a 2022 release date. To the surprise of no one, the game did not come out in 2022.

On top of that, in May 2023, Ubisoft claimed that the remake was still in a conception stage. But then, in June 2024, Ubisoft claimed that the remake was targeting a 2026 release date.

And this brings us to 2026. Just a few days ago, Ubisoft announced the cancellation of the Prince of Persia Remake. Ubisoft claimed that the game did not reach the level of quality its fans deserve. Thus, instead of releasing a mediocre product, the publisher decided to cancel it.

From what I can see, the remake looked fine. So, if the rumors of it being 99% are true, I don’t know why Ubisoft decided to cancel it. I mean, it does not look like the worst thing you’ve ever seen. I know, this is really low-quality footage. But hey, it at least looks like something that a lot of people could enjoy.

A few days ago, we got our first leak for this canceled remake. That leak gave us a look at the Prince himself. As I’ve seen in our Comment section, a lot of our readers did not like the new look of the Prince. So, perhaps Ubisoft was wise to cancel it?
