Silent Hill fans, here is something special for you today. ZealotTormunds has just released a new mod for Silent Hill 2 that allows you to play it in third-person or first-person mode. This will completely change the way you experience this classic SH game. So, waste no time and download the mod.
So, what does this mod do? Well, it basically adds an Over-the-shoulder third-person viewpoint to the game. Moreover, you can switch to a first-person mode if you like. Not only that but you can now aim manually.
Now what’s great here is that this mod is compatible with Silent Hill 2 Enhanced Edition. In case you didn’t know, Silent Hill 2: Enhanced Edition is a collection of mods that enhances the game and makes it playable on all modern systems. This is a must for everyone who wants to replay this classic SH game. As such, it makes really happy to see these mods working together.
You can download the mod from this link. And, in case you’re wondering, yes. This is similar to the ones we shared for Silent Hill 3 and Silent Hill 4.
In case you’re wondering how this 3rd-person mode fares against the upcoming remake of SH2, you can find a comparison video here. For this comparison, Cycu1 used a similar mod. As such, it can give you a pretty good idea of how much better the remake will look.
I also suggest taking a look at similar first-person mods for some other triple-A games. For example, both Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Breakpoint and Ghost Recon Wildlands now have body-cam style first-person mods. You can also find FPS mods for Mass Effect: Legendary Edition. Even the classic Max Payne 2 has a first-person mod. And that’s not all. You can play Hogwarts Legacy, Palworld, Elden Ring, Dark Souls 3, Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered, The Witcher 3, Lies of P, and Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain in first-person as well. Oh, and there are similar mods for Resident Evil 2 Remake, Resident Evil 3 Remake and Resident Evil 4 Remake. And if you’re playing The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom on PC, there’s a first-person mod for that too. So, pretty cool stuff, right?
Have fun and stay tuned for more!

I tested it with enhanced edition. Works very well with mouse controls. Tried first person and over the shoulder view. For some reason I just can't get the right analog stick on controller to work in this game. Tried 2 controllers and various input settings. Still, very cool to experience the game in first person.
Works for me. Here's my setup:
DualShock 4, using DS4Windows (controller doesn't vibrate if I don't use this)

Thanks. Setting D pad functions to hybrid mode fixed it.
Happy to hear it.
ok but the game is still boring.
That's my thought on this entire franchise. I swear it's always the dumbest f4gs who are into this and metal gear solid.
first game was good and the room had all these weird levels and enemies.
The 1st one was pretty sick, still love it but no one talk about it. The game is not boring but you need to be in a specific mod to enjoy it.
yeah isolationism melancholia.
Exactly.
I think so too but then I think all horror movies and games are boring. They only work if you get scared and get a rush from it but that just doesn't happen with me. Fridays the 13th, Halloween and all those type movies I just find boring AF because I just don't scare easily. It's just not in my nature
But if that works for you then fine by me, I'm not going to tell you what to like or dislike because that's not in my nature either. As long as you harm no one or steal from them or deny them their Rights you can do whatever the f**k you want to do as far as I'm concerned

Isn't the vanilla version in TPP? I mean I guess if he has it at a better angle or something there. A full six axis cam mod would be nice. FPP would be pretty nice, more immersive in places like the prison and apartment etc have to give this a try I still have my EE version on a drive. I played it with xbone controller fine btw just used the default settings, but cameras in this series have always been not my fav it does work though.
