Dragon's Dogma 2 new feature

Dragon’s Dogma 2 has sold 3 million units in its first 40 days

Capcom has just announced that Dragon’s Dogma 2 has welcomed 3 million Arisen. And, since the game is not available on Game Pass (or any other subscription service), it basically means that it has sold 3 million units since launch.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 was released on March 22nd. So, it took a bit over a month (around 40 days) for the game to hit that sales milestone.

What’s ironic here is that, prior to the release of DD2, Capcom was considering the Dragon’s Dogma franchise dead. These strong sales though have obviously changed Capcom’s mind.

To be honest, I’m not that surprised by the commercial success of Dragon’s Dogma 2. The game ticks almost every box for modern gamers. It’s open-world (check), it has some lite RPG elements (check), it has a medieval setting (check), it has dragons (check), and it’s action-oriented (check).

And I know that a lot of people hope that after the success of Dragon’s Dogma 2, Capcom may now give Dino Crisis a chance. However, Dino Crisis is a more linear story-driven game. It does not check all the aforementioned boxes I mentioned. So, I don’t think Capcom will invest in it. It sucks but hey, it is what it is.

Speaking of DD2, I also suggest giving these mods a go. These mods will greatly enhance your gaming experience, so they are a must. At least in my opinion. You can download this mod that improves its mouse camera movement. Another mod adds a cool lock-on combat mechanic. Then we have the Save Manager Mod which is a must-have mod. This mod allows you to start a new game, create multiple characters, and have an unlimited number of save files for each character.

Let’s also not forget this mod that improves the quality of Ray Tracing, and reduces its smearing side effects. Moreover, you can download this mod to enable Path Tracing. It still has some issues but man, the game can look so good with Path Tracing. Oh, and you can download a free DLSS 3 Mod. There is also this mod that adds teleport waypoints to all major locations. Then we have this mod that allows you to use the highest quality normal maps, and fixes a compression issue that could affect every single texture. Finally, you can get some 4K Texture Packs from here and here.

Enjoy and stay tuned for more!

  1. Does this mean they are in a financial position that allows them to actually fix and optimize the game??! I’m guessing it means it was successful enough they don’t have to worry about that!!
Too bad for the ones who bought it.. unless you’ve got a good system that can handle it. I wouldn’t know, since I don’t support Denuvo cancer.

      1. Haha, why would they fix a damn thing. 3 million units send a clear message. “Your game is perfect and there is nothing to be fixed”. They all deserve each other at this point. I’m done, smh

          1. Well I mean Horizon FW, Ghost of Tsushima and Hellblade 2 didn’t, but you could say it’s a trend in general, yeah

          2. It’s because many devs target 60 fps for console gamers. Also Japanese games tend to be the worst for this. At least framegen offers a workaround for CPU bottlenecks.

      1. It works the other way around, games that aren’t selling get Denuvo removed as the cost of the rolling licence negates income from sales.

  2. Proof that you don’t need a good, or even working, game.

    You just need hype.

And getting that hype is not difficult. “Capcom’s Creator Program” pays out hard cash to Youtubers and Twitch creators to shill for Capcom games.

It’s hard to estimate how much Capcom pays their shills, because the creator program does not allow you to disclose what Capcom paid you. But an image from Nexus that works with Capcom to find shills, shows they gave out $15,000 in a single round. Because Nexus is such a small part of the creator program, Capcom likely spends millions on Youtube/Twitch shills for every game.

    1. Every major publisher pays bigger youtubers, that’s normal in this influencer driven economy gabage.

    2. It’s a great game, performance is woeful though. And you if you are gonna be like ‘proof’, make an example of some actual garbage like Odyssey & Valhalla.

  3. You all deserve each other at this point..I hope they start releasing games with .exe files. Good riddance

  4. 3 million units in 40 days is kind of puny. I guess Capcom should have spent more for marketing hype and maybe not charged $70.

  5. 3 million too many.. If it were just a few thousands perhaps they would’ve worked their butts apart to fix this game in its entirety.
