It’s no secret that we all want a new Dino Crisis game. And, since Capcom is not willing to reboot the franchise, we can solely rely on indie devs to satisfy our dino needs. So, today we present you PALEOPHAGE, a game that its creator describes as “Resident Evil with dinosaurs“.
Now, since this is an indie game from one dev, I suggest tempering your expectations. Do not expect a triple-A game. Still, I’m certain that a lot of Dino Crisis and Resident Evil fans will find it interesting.
PALEOPHAGE will let you explore a sprawling urban city center under siege by long-extinct creatures. Dinosaurs, insects, and other prehistoric threats lurk around every corner.
The game will offer two playable characters. In total, there will be six upgradeable weapons and ten types of enemies. Moreover, there will be some puzzles to solve.
You can find below its latest gameplay video. Since its quality is a bit low, I’ve also included another trailer. The second trailer is a year old, so it does not reflect the quality of the final product. So, keep that in mind as the animations, shooting and dino reactions are not that polished.
Since I’m a big dino fan, I like everything I see in these videos. And, if the game is priced right, it might find an audience.
Although there isn’t a specific ETA on when it will come out, LogDev aims to release it sometime in 2024. The dev has also shared its official PC system requirements.
According to them, PC gamers will at least need an Intel Core i5-4460 or AMD FX-6300 with 8GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 or AMD Radeon RX 460. The dev recommends using an Intel Core i7-3770 or AMD FX-9590 with 16GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 or AMD Radeon RX 480.

Also doubt it’s a functioning game, just a few poorly animated assets on a map.

guess we are now overflooded with dino games. first we had the damn fish eye crap that got copied and pasted on almost every game, modders did that with games like CP2077 to ‘enhance’ the realistic approach. now that sort of settled we get all these copy dino games. gg.
So GTX 1080 or Radeon 460, also RTX 3060 or Radeon 480….yeah, sounds OK. So this game is extremely optimized for Radeon…or what…?! 😀
