Bioware just dropped a teaser trailer for its new Mass Effect game. But here’s the scoop: it’s not super exciting. All it really has is a female character, probably the main character, walking around. So, don’t get your hopes up too high.
EA and Bioware officially announced this new Mass Effect game in 2020. Then, in December 2020, they dropped its first teaser trailer.
After that teaser trailer, Bioware hasn’t said a word for nearly three years about the new Mass Effect game. At least we can assume that they’ll be using the Frostbite Engine.
And… well… that’s that. My guess is that we’ll get a new trailer for this new Mass Effect game at this year’s TGA show. So, basically, we’ll get a new trailer in a month from now. Again, though, I’d suggest keeping your expectations in check.

I hate how game studios make some CGI garbage that has nothing to do with their game, and then call it a “trailer”…
That’s been going on since the 80’s …… Look at the commercials and cover art for NES games and then compare that to what you actually saw on your screen. Even these CGI trailers are a lot closer to the final product than what you saw in 1980 – 2000 advertising for games
I am aware that it’s been a trend for a long time. That doesn’t make it good.

They narrowly avoided the backlash of showing a black woman, by showing a woman with a black helmet. ESG devs have to get creative these days.

I am skeptical that BioWare can develop a really good game anymore. Most of the real talent left long ago including the 2 co-founders leaving in 2012.
I would peg their beginning to fail to after ME2. A long time ago and the decent has progressed ever since. These days they are swirling down the toilet bowl.
It’s a shame. They were once one of my favorite Developers but EA happened to them like so many other great Developers.

First mass effect was the proto woke game of all woke video games. Even the writers at the time said how much they wanted to be progressive and bla bla, the usual.
Bioware was ESG friendly before the term even existed.
